About Neodrives & Xion drive systems
Neodrives is the e-mobility brand of the southern German Alber GmbH. Neodrives Drive was jointly developed by Alber and Benchmark Drives (2014 by Continental). It is Neodrives It is a fully-fledged e-bike drive system, consisting of a motor, battery and display. A special feature of the Neodrives engines is that they are not mid-mounted, but rear-mounted. Neodrives Drives are now installed in e-bikes from many well-known manufacturers – e.g. in models from Kalkhoff, Raleigh, Bulls Green Mover, Simplon, Univega etc. In e-bikes from Derby Cycle comes that Neodrives Drive system under the name Xion used (e.g. in Raleigh & Kalkhoff Pedelecs). Neodrives and Xion engines are virtually identical. By the way, there is now even a Neodrives Conversion kit that allows you to upgrade normal bicycles to e-bikes.
The Neodrives / Xion E-Bike Motor
As already mentioned, the Neodrives / Xion drives are rear-mounted motors. Compared to mid-mounted motors, they are said to exhibit significantly reduced wear on the chain and gears. The sensors are contactless, and there's no gear wear whatsoever. Furthermore, the motors are extremely quiet and low-vibration. Thanks to direct power transmission to the rear wheel, you benefit from exceptionally good handling and rapid acceleration from a standstill. Another advantage is that the motors are capable of energy recovery, thus ensuring a longer range (regeneration).

The newest Neodrives The drive is completely silent and vibration-free, as there's no gearbox in the rear motor. With integrated push assist, a maximum torque of 40 Nm, and 300% maximum assistance level, it's ideal for touring, trekking, and city e-bikes.
Können Neodrives / Xion engines be optimized?
In principle, yes, but the number of tuning solutions is limited. Fortunately, with the "JUM-Ped for Neodrives / Xion” is at least a “real” tuning tool for these drive systems.

With this tuning tool, e-bikes with Alber Neodrives / Xion motors can be optimized in many ways – for example, you can increase the maximum motor support, individually adjust the push assist and support levels, etc. Since no complex installation work is required on the e-bike, using the tuning tool is truly child's play. You simply connect the JUM-Ped to the e-bike's display and configure the desired settings. Once the bike has been optimized, you simply remove the JUM-Ped – this tuning tool does not remain on the bike. Of course, the settings can be changed or the tuning can be reversed at any time. Made in Germany.
