More than OLI Engines
The Italian company OLI eBike Systems was founded in 2015 as a division of OLI SPA, the market leader in the production of industrial vibrators. This enabled the developers of OLI eBike Systems draws on the decades of technical experience and the global sales network of its renowned parent company.
OLI eBike Systems manufactures complete e-bike drive systems – not just motors, but also displays, control units, and batteries (external and internal solutions). Interestingly, the mountings of some OLI Drives are compatible with the Bosch mount, so that they can be used by the respective e-bike manufacturers without major changes to the frame (only the OLI SPORT engine comes with an in-house mount).
The OLI Drive systems are currently mainly installed by e-bike manufacturers that are particularly well-known in Italy – including brands such as Olympia, Bianchi, Atala and mbm.
OLI E-bike motors
OLI produces various e-bike drives for different requirements. In each case, these are mid-engines. Especially when starting off, the OLI Motors score points with particularly powerful support and particularly high torque.
The entry-level model, the OLI The MOVE motor has a maximum torque of 50 Nm and was primarily designed for use on e-city bikes or e-trekking bikes. It has an output of 250 watts (max. 550 W). The MOVE PLUS motor is significantly sportier, delivering 80 Nm. Its output is also 250 watts, in accordance with legal requirements, but with a peak output of 650 watts. This makes this motor ideal for climbing inclines. Worth mentioning is the ZERO SUPPORT mode, which provides substantial assistance even with light pedal pressure.
Even stronger is the OLI SPORT motor with 85 Nm of torque and a peak output of 720 watts. Despite this enormous power, this impressive drive weighs just 3,3 kg. Thanks to these outstanding features, the SPORT motor is perfectly suited for use in e-mountain bikes. This drive can easily compete with the most compact drive units from leading manufacturers.
In addition to the standard engines, OLI Manufacturers also have the option of producing tailor-made motors that are specifically adapted to the respective requirements (“custom made” motors).
Können OLI Engines be optimized?
Yes! Although OLI E-bikes certainly do not have the same level of recognition as their powerful competitors from Bosch, Brose or Yamaha, there are already some tuning solutions. Admittedly, there are not many tuning tools specifically for OLI E-bikes, but at least!
What OLI Are there tuning tools?
PearTune MSO 4.0 for OLI
A tuning module with a wide range of functions. Not only is the 25 km/h speed limit completely removed, but you can also set the maximum speed to a custom value. All this with the correct km/h on the display. If necessary, the tuning can be activated/deactivated at any time using the bike's control buttons. An original feature is the "chip lock" function, which makes the tuning virtually invisible. The tuning can then temporarily no longer be activated, and both the e-bike and the display function normally. The PearTune Module not compatible with all OLI E-bike motors (e.g. Sport & Move) and all OLI Display.
PearTune MSO for OLI Sport / Exercise
The popular one PearTune MSO is now also available in a version specifically for OLI E-bike drives (Sport & Move motors). This is a tuning module that completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit. The tuning can be switched on and off with the + & - buttons (for OLI For bikes without +/- buttons, the module is also available in an optional STILL ON version, where tuning is always active. The display accurately shows both the current speed and all other data. This tuning tool connects directly to the motor and does not require its own battery.
SpeedBox 3.0 for OLI
This tuning chip not only allows you to remove the 25 km/h speed limit, but also to set the desired top speed to a custom value. Even with active tuning, the e-bike display shows correct values. The tuning can be easily switched on and off using the control buttons on the display. SpeedBox 3.0 is a module that must be connected to the motor's connectors and does not require its own battery. Compatible with OLI E-bikes (Edge, Sport,…).
SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for OLI
A tuning chip that removes the 25 km/h speed limit. Unlike the conventional SpeedBox 3.0, this B.Tuning variant is also available with the SpeedBox App compatible, which significantly expands the range of functions (save & share rides, motor lock, hide tuning, etc.). It is possible to set the maximum assistance level to a custom value. Even with active tuning, the e-bike displays correct values. Tuning can be turned on and off using the bike's control buttons or via the app. Compatible with OLI E-bike drives.
Eplus Racing Advanced by Mountain Tuning for OLIEDS / OLI / AM80
A combination of tuning chip and Eplus Tuning app that offers a wide range of optimization options. The 25 km/h speed limit isn't simply removed; the app even lets you individually adjust the top speed. You can also choose between different engine mappings, allowing you to adapt the bike's handling to the current conditions. The range of functions even includes an immobilizer. The display shows the correct speed; the chip doesn't require a separate battery. Compatible with OLIEDS, OLI, AM80 E-Bike drives (not compatible with AM80 Agile / M80 Ananda).
