With over 22.000 employees in 23 countries, the renowned German automotive supplier Brose among the top 40 global automotive suppliers. It manufactures high-quality systems for electric drives, vehicle doors, tailgates, and seat structures. Regarding "Electric Motors in the Automotive Industry," Brose Now even the world market leader. It is only logical that Brose Drive technology, a division of Brose Group, which used its accumulated know-how to develop its own e-bike motors. By mid-2014, Brose launched the first e-bike drive onto the market. The motor was based on a proven steering motor for cars, produced millions of times, but was further developed and refined for use in e-bikes. The result met the highest quality standards and was, in fact, the first e-bike motor that was truly "Made in Germany." Brose Engines followed, and today Brose Drives from over 30 e-bike brands installed.

Brose E-bike motors
Brose produces exclusively mid-engines. Brose Drives are considered to be particularly quiet, but at the same time powerful. Brose produces different motors for different e-bike types. All motors are available with an aluminum or (slightly lighter and smaller) magnesium housing. Here are a few examples (as of March 2021):
Brose Drive C - City Champion
Ideal for use in dense city traffic. 50 Nm / max. support 280%.
Brose Drive T - Long-distance runner
Ideal for longer distances, even with steep inclines. Also perfect for cargo e-bikes. 70 Nm / max. support 320%.
Brose Drive S - Summiteer
This drive unit boasts enormous power, particularly sensitive response, and the exclusive "Flex Power Mode" support level. With 410 percent maximum support, it's ideal for challenging trails. 90 Nm / max. support: 380% for the aluminum version, 410% for the magnesium version.

The original "Chip Lock" function makes the tuning virtually invisible, so that it is no longer noticeable that a tuning module has been installed. When the chip lock is activated, the tuning can temporarily no longer be activated, and the e-bike functions normally. The control of the PearTune The module is controlled via the control buttons on the e-bike (no PC or smartphone required). Even with active tuning, the display shows the correct speed. PearTune MSO for Brose Engines

The Speedbox 1 is a small module that is installed on the sensor. It halves the transmitted speed from a value of 18 to 24 km/h (all other values are also halved) – thereby removing the 25 km/h speed limit. The Speedbox 1 is easy to install and barely noticeable. It is a totally simple, yet highly effective tuning tool for e-bikes with Brose Drives. The Speedbox 1 cannot be switched on or off.

A tuning tool of a different kind: The sIMPLEk The ECOplus Stick does not remove the 25 km/h speed limit of the motor support, but extends the range of the e-bike by up to 20 percent. This makes it an ideal solution if you want to ride longer distances. Even with the stick plugged in, the correct speed remains visible on the display (see product description for more information).
