Bosch Rim Magnet Tuning – Solutions for the Smart System (BES3)
With the introduction of the new Bosch Smart Systems (BES3), the positioning of the speed sensor has also changed fundamentally: Instead of the classic sensor on the chainstay, an internal sensor is now used, which receives its signal directly from the rim magnet. This new architecture poses challenges to previous tuning approaches – but there are clever solutions for different requirements and budgets. The important thing here is which BDU (Bosch Drive Unit) you have. You can find the BDUxxxx identifier in the eBike Flow app, or it's on a small gray sticker under the motor cover.
