What if my browser doesn't support the WebUSB interface?
Make sure you're using the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, or Safari. Firefox and Safari don't fully support WebUSB.
What if the bike is not recognized?
Check that the display is properly connected and the bike is turned on. Use an original or high-quality USB cable with data transfer capability.
Does EBT also work for leased bikes?
Technically, yes – but legally, there may be restrictions due to the leasing terms. Check your contract beforehand.
How do I find out if my bike has BES1 or BES2?
Usually at the USB port on the display: Mini-USB = BES1, Micro-USB = BES2. Alternatively, the bike manufacturer can help.
Can I “park” a license and use it later?
Yes, unused licenses remain valid until the first use.
What does “halved display” mean on the display?
Due to the system's limitations, the speed is displayed at half the speed. For example, a real speed of 40 km/h appears as 20 km/h.
What if I upgrade to a different display?
As long as the motor remains the same and the system is BES1 or BES2, the license will continue to work. When converting to a Smartphone Hub or Cobi.Bike, the original display must always be used.
How long does the activation take?
Usually less than 2 minutes if the system is recognized and all steps are followed correctly.
Can I be sure that it won't be detected?
Currently, there is no evidence that EBT is detected if it is deactivated. To be on the safe side, you should disable EBT before visiting a workshop.
What to do if you get error message 504?
This doesn't occur with EBT. If you still see it, there may be a USB cable issue or a lost connection. Occasionally, error messages may appear if hardware tuning was previously performed.
Will my warranty be affected by EBT?
Any form of tuning may void your warranty. Please check the terms and conditions of your e-bike manufacturer.
What happens when I reset my display?
The tuning settings are retained because they are stored in the engine – not in the display.
