The current NBT generation is more than just a simple license code. It combines wireless activation, profile control, reverting to standard mode, and model-specific comfort functions in a browser-based interface.
1. Speed Unlock
The central function is the Removal of the factory-set speed limiter for compatible original vehicles.
2nd Stock Profiles & Tuned Profiles
The scooter can operate with two clearly separate profiles: a near-production one. Stock Profile and a Tuned ProfileDepending on the model, settings such as speed, cruise control, or lighting behavior can be saved separately.
3. Panic Button / Instant Return
On supported models, the Panic Button allows for a quick return to standard mode – depending on the model, without switching off the scooter. This makes its use more controllable.
4. Cruise control per profile
Cruise control can be set separately for stock and tuned profiles, depending on the model and software version.
5. Lighting Control
On supported models, lighting functions can be managed directly in the interface, for example: GT3 Light Bar or ZT3 X-Light.
6. G3 Activation Confirmation
On compatible G3 models, an acoustic signal can confirm that the tuning has been successfully activated.
7. Trace ID Diagnosis
In case of errors, the system can generate a trace ID. This facilitates analysis and speeds up support for technical questions.
8. Dark/Light Interface
The interface is optimized for mobile use and can be used in light or dark mode depending on the display.

How activation works
- You purchase the appropriate NBT license for your model series.
- You will receive your personal license code and activation link via email.
- You open the link in a Bluetooth-enabled browser on your smartphone.
- You turn on the scooter and activate Bluetooth.
- You connect the scooter to the browser interface.
- You enter your license code.
- You start the activation process and follow the instructions on the screen.
- Then you activate the tuning using the appropriate input combination on the scooter.

Not every Ninebot scooter can be upgraded with a license key. If a model is not explicitly listed as compatible, it should be considered unsupported.

If the manufacturer modifies the system, the unlocking behavior may also change. This is a common reality with software-based tuning solutions.

Note on the licensing system
The NBT Unlock Key is a digital license key. Activation is linked to the specific vehicle.
An activation that has already been used cannot be transferred to another vehicle. If key components such as the controller are replaced, the original system binding may be lost.
Multiple licenses
For packages of 2 and 4 licenses: Once a license from the package has been used, the package is considered partially used and cannot be returned.

Can I return a multi-pack if I have already used one license?
No. Once a license from a multi-pack has been used, the package is considered partially used and cannot be returned.
