Update cable – your configuration center
With the optionally available update cable can you do yours ScooterBoost-Chip individually configure and update at any time. The connection is simply via USB to your PC. The free ScooterBoost-PC software which will offer you many features in the future. The software will be expanded step by step; now for necessary firmware updates, and later for additional features:
Set activation code: Adapt the activation to your model, e.g., via the power button, the brake, or support levels. Depending on the e-scooter model.
German maneuver control: Control the behavior during the German maneuver (e.g.: tuning is deactivated after reboot or the chip remains active even after reboot).
Set maximum speed: You can adjust the maximum speed individually.

Firmware updates: Upload new software versions to the chip to keep it always up to date. This does not, however, provide an absolute guarantee of protection against future firmware updates. However, it represents a milestone in e-scooter tuning. This feature is already active for e-scooters that have received updated firmware from the manufacturer and where an update was necessary (Ninebot).
Tuning Light: Allow your scooter to permissible 22 km/h (10% tolerance of 20 km/h) – ideal for models that would otherwise not reach this maximum speed permanently.
Tuning Light Plus: Your scooter is unlocked and will revert to "Tuning Light" mode after the German maneuver.
The update cable is available separately or bundled with the chip. Thanks to the integrated authorization chip, it can be used exclusively with the ScooterBoost-chips are used.
Important: All available options (e.g., combination of activation options) depend on the specific e-scooter and cannot always be guaranteed by the Scooterboost update software. Individual chip functions may therefore vary depending on the e-scooter. The maximum speed during operation can vary due to many factors. The speed lock is removed. This is done very conveniently with many additional setting options. Please note that individual software functions are being integrated step by step.
Delivery dates ScooterBoost Chips – Overview of all tuning chips and update cables
The ScooterBoost Team is continuously expanding its product range and offers solutions for many models. The delivery date for some ScooterBoost Chips is delayed (due to illness) by a few days (compared to the advertised dates in the table below): ScooterBoostChips for Xiaomi are delayed until the end of week 18 or week 20 (instead of week 12). ScooterBoostChips for SoFlow So4Pro, SoOne and Ninebot G2D will be delivered with new firmware at the beginning of week 20. There were delays due to an update for the Ninebot scooters. The firmware update (Ninebot and SoFlow) of the ScooterBoost Software can be downloaded in the next few days via the ScooterBoost Homepage (www.scooterboost.de). For the remaining solutions (VMAX & Egret) will be implemented in week 20. All other solutions have either already been published or remain valid according to the table. We ask for your patience and understanding.
Attention: The ScooterBoost Update software is already available. It will initially be delivered exclusively to customers who have ordered an update cable and for whom an update is absolutely necessary. The software therefore initially includes the option for a necessary firmware update. Additional functions will be gradually integrated: German Maneuver, setting VMax... The individual activation code will be set at the end. These implementations will not be delayed until week 20, 2025, as announced, but already in week 19 at ScooterBoostChips for SoFLow and Ninebot. Please be patient and understanding here.

The maximum achievable speed always depends on many factors (battery, motor, rider weight, etc.), therefore we cannot specify a maximum speed (VMax). Please note that even with the speed limit deactivated, operation on public roads is not permitted in Germany. Use is subject to Private, for advertising purposes or outside the Federal Republic of Germany (depending on country-specific regulations).

1. What is ScooterBoost Tuning?
ScooterBoost Tuning removes the factory speed limit of your e-scooter to enable higher speeds. It optimally utilizes the available motor power and offers individual customization options. It consists of a tuning chip that must be installed in the e-scooter, either in the handlebar or under the footboard, and an optional update cable (purchased separately) that allows you to update and configure the tuning chip from your PC using free software.
2. is ScooterBoost Is tuning legal?
No, tuning is not permitted on public roads. It may only be used on private property or for competition purposes. Installation will also void the vehicle's operating license and insurance coverage.
3. How does installation and uninstallation work?
Installation is simple: The chip is installed either under the footboard or in the handlebar. After removal, the scooter returns to its original state. If it is placed in the handlebar, it can be quickly removed. If you assembled the e-scooter after purchase and unpacked it from the box, you'll probably already be familiar with the process. For some models, installation must be done under the footboard. To do this, remove the top or bottom cover and insert the chip.
4. For which e-scooters is ScooterBoost compatible?
ScooterBoost can already unlock many e-scooter models: Besides Ninebot and Xiaomi, also SoFlow, Navee and Egret E-scooters. The list of compatible e-scooters is continuously being expanded and includes the most important models until summer 2025. Since Xiaomi, Ninebot and SoFlow already have a large market coverage, many e-scooters can already be equipped with ScooterBoost be unlocked.
5. Does tuning affect the lifespan of my scooter?
The engine performance remains unchanged, but wear and tear may increase depending on use (e.g., at high speeds). However, many scooter models are also designed for higher speeds in other countries.
6. Can the tuning be reversed?
Yes, the tuning chip can be removed without leaving any residue, restoring the scooter to its original condition. However, the manufacturer's warranty and liability for the scooter automatically expire after the tuning chip is installed in the e-scooter.
7. How fast can my e-scooter go after tuning?
The maximum achievable speed depends on many factors, such as motor power, rider weight, battery, rolling resistance, and riding conditions. The idle test (with the bike jacked up) can determine the maximum speed without load.
8. Can all functions of the ScooterBoost Software always guaranteed?
No, some functions depend on the e-scooter model and the associated firmware. For example, if the scooter doesn't have an electrical signal to the brake, tuning cannot be activated via the brake.
9. What happens after a firmware update of the scooter?
Tuning can only be done retrospectively. Later firmware updates from the manufacturer can always affect the functionality of the tuning chip. ScooterBoost However, new firmware updates can be installed on the chip using update cables, although this does not guarantee that future manufacturer updates can be permanently bypassed.
10. Will the list of compatible scooter models be expanded?
Yes, the list of supported e-scooters will be significantly expanded by summer 2025. The goal is to cover the most important models of the most popular ones on the market.
11. How does tuning affect the wear and tear of my scooter?
Increased speed can accelerate wear on components such as tires or brakes, especially with intensive use. However, many scooters are designed for higher speeds, which are only limited by regional regulations depending on the EU country. For example, in addition to countries where e-scooters are allowed to travel at a maximum of 20 km/h, there are also countries where the maximum speed is 25 km/h, but some EU countries do not have a maximum speed requirement.
12. Are there any limitations on the functions depending on the scooter model?
Yes, features can be limited from model to model and even from firmware version to firmware version. For example, if a scooter doesn't have an electrical signal to the brake, tuning cannot be activated via the brake.
