Sx2 dongle

The Sx2 Dongle - The classic dongle for many e-bike motors

The Sx2 Dongle is a classic among e-bike tuning solutions and has been on the market since 2012. With the Sx2 Dongle, you can remove the 25 km/h speed limit of your e-bike and thus utilize the full potential of the motors. The Sx2 Tuning Dongle works with e-bikes and pedelecs with various drive systems from Bosch, Panasonicic, shimano, Yamaha , Impulse 1, 2 & EVO, Brose & SpecializedWith this tuning tool, you can make your e-bike much faster in a very simple way. Since it's a plug-in solution, the tuning can be reversed at any time within seconds (one of the great advantages of the Sx2 dongle). Simply unplug the dongle, and the e-bike will regain its original handling characteristics, making it legal to use on public roads again. It couldn't be easier.
The Sx2 dongle is housed in a compact, pluggable 3,5 mm jack that simply needs to be connected in parallel to the e-bike's speed sensor. Incidentally, the dongle doesn't require separate batteries, and it doesn't interfere with your e-bike's motor electronics. Conveniently, all riding modes remain intact.
How does the Sx2 dongle work?
The operating principle of this proven tuning tool is essentially very simple: After connecting the dongle, the speed of your e-bike is divided by 20 at speeds above approximately 2 km/h, after which only half of the actual speed is displayed on the display. This removes the preset 25 km/h speed limit. The Sx2 dongle features encapsulated electronics, making it fully suitable for outdoor use.
Activation at the light switch:
Owners of e-bikes with Bosch and Yamaha drives can optionally choose versions with an “active switch,” which allows the Sx2 dongle to be conveniently switched on or off using the light switch:
- Sx2 dongle with active switch and cable kit for Bosch
- Sx2 dongle with active switch and cable kit for Yamaha PW (also for PW-X and PWS-SE)
If you encounter problems during installation - Troubleshooting:
Occasionally, installation issues may occur. Please proceed as follows:
- Are the wires connected correctly (crimp terminals properly crimped) or soldered?
- Were you able to measure the voltage according to the instructions (the dongle requires at least 4mA)?
- Did you measure the current according to the instructions (Important: Often only the voltage comes back!)?
- You can find out how to correctly measure current and voltage yourself in the PDF instructions on the respective product pages!
- Please check whether the dongle switches later than 25 km/h (to do this, jack up the bike and turn the pedal up by hand to about 40 km/h - if the display only halves the speed after 25 km/h, the dongle is basically working)!
- Please check the position of the magnet (on the spoke) and move it a few mm on the spoke (inwards and outwards)!
- If no solution is in sight – email our Support with the following information:
- wheel type
- Inch size
- Dongle value
- Measurement results
- Other information, photos if applicable
