You can Badass Box 4 by simply attaching the box and slightly repositioning the existing spoke magnet. If you want to undo the tuning and restore the e-bike's original handling characteristics, simply remove the box and move the spoke magnet to its original position. This can be done in seconds.
This is the Badass Box 4 is the best version of this proven tuning tool ever. New features include a redesigned housing and a patented snap lock, which allows for even faster attachment and removal. The range of the Badass Box has been increased: Thanks to the included 1,5V AAA battery, it is now often over 7.000 km (or 1 year due to battery discharge). The battery can of course be easily replaced (without tools). Replacement batteries are available almost everywhere at low cost. For even better protection against moisture and mechanical stress, the electronics of the Badass Box now additionally glued into the housing with a special casting compound and completely sealed.
Badass 4 for Panasonic - How it works:
Once installed, the badass box transmits a modified signal from the speed sensor, overriding the factory 25 km/h speed limit. This occurs contactlessly, meaning there's no electrical connection to the engine—there's no interference with the engine electronics or software. Thus, there's no risk of engine damage.
Please note that when tuning is activated, the current tempo and derived values are no longer displayed correctly.

Badass Box 4 Panasonic Assembly:
The installation of the Badass Box 4 is quite simple. For example, there's no need to open the engine.
You have to do that Badass Box 4 simply pull it over the Panasonic speed sensor next to the rear wheel (you'll find the speed sensor on the chainstay of your e-bike). Once the snap lock clicks into place, the box is securely attached to the sensor.
During initial installation, it is recommended to replace the spoke magnet screw with the supplied tool-free screw for tool-free relocation. Badass Box Once the sensor has been placed on the wheel, the spoke magnet simply needs to be moved toward the edge of the housing, in the direction of the snap lock – and the process is complete! The tuning is now active; there is no longer a 25 km/h speed limit.
Once you've removed the box, you'll need to move the spoke magnet back to its original position. The tuning will then be canceled.
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
