The proven ones Badass Box Tuning tools are known, among other things, for the fact that they can be installed without much hassle – unlike some other e-bike tuning tools, for example, it is not necessary to laboriously open the motor.
In addition, the legal original condition of your e-bike can be restored at any time – all you have to do is Badass Box and move the spoke magnet slightly. You don't even need any tools!

Contactless e-bike tuning
The Badass Box 4 overrides the 25 km/h speed limit by transmitting a modified signal. This allows the preset speed limit to be exceeded. This occurs contactlessly, or without an electrical connection to the motor. There is also no direct interference with the motor electronics or software. Therefore, there is no risk of accidental damage.
Please note: Due to the special functionality, the e-bike display will no longer show the correct speed when tuning is active (this also applies to values derived from the speed).
Therefore, our tip: Simply use mobile, GPS-enabled additional devices such as bike computers or smartphones to display the real values (current speed, kilometers traveled, etc.).
Advantages over previous versions
Compared to the previous models, the Badass Box 4 has been improved in many ways, making it the most effective version of this tuning tool ever:
The housing of the box has been completely redesigned and made slimmer, so that it can no longer be too tight during installation (the sensor application is only a minimal 3 mm, less is hardly possible).
The O-ring of the previous version has been replaced with a new, patented snap-on closure. This makes the box easier to attach and remove than ever before – in no time at all and with just one hand.
Stimulated by customer requests, an additional, optional fastening security using cable ties on the snap fastener is now also provided.
The previous CR2 battery was replaced by Badass Box 4 has been replaced with a more powerful AAA battery. This has a very long range and only needs to be replaced approximately once a year. No tools are required to replace the battery, and suitable replacement batteries are available almost everywhere. The long range is made possible by the patented, specially developed FEET field enhancement technology ("Field Enhancement & Elimination Technology").
Robust and resistant
Since the electronics of the Badass Box 4 is glued into the housing with a special casting compound (originally from the automotive industry!) and completely sealed, the tool is optimally protected against moisture and mechanical stress. As part of a double quality control, each individual Badass Box tested for correct functionality before and after casting.
Badass Box 4 for Polini – Installation
The Badass Box 4 can be installed without much effort and can also be uninstalled easily.
The Badass Box 4 must be mounted over the Polini speed sensor next to the rear wheel (the speed sensor can be found on the chainstay of your bike, see picture). Once the snap lock clicks into place, the box is securely attached to the sensor. Optionally, the Badass Box be additionally secured with cable ties.
During the first installation, you must replace the original magnet with the supplied spoke magnet. The supplied magnet works just like the original magnet – but it is necessary so that Badass Box the patented FEET field amplification technology works.
Nachdem die Badass Box has been placed on the sensor, you need to move the new spoke magnet toward the edge of the housing, in the direction of the snap lock. If the magnet touches the box, you need to place the magnet as close to the box as possible and rotate it 90°. This completes the installation – your Polini e-bike is tuned and there's no longer a 25 km/h speed limit!
If you want to undo the tuning and return the e-bike to its original legal condition, simply remove the box and return the spoke magnet to its original position. The motor assistance will then stop at 25 km/h.

Badass Box 4 for Polini – Compatibility
This Badass Box is compatible with e-bikes with Polini E-P3 mid-engines.
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
