Bosch SLIM SENSOR (Bosch adapter), as it is located on the chainstay. Here you can see the adapter from Bosch, which houses the rod-shaped sensor of the Bosch Smart This can be fitted precisely into the Badass Box Install adapter.
Sensor on the chainstay. A good indicator that your sensor is mounted on the chainstay is the presence of a spoke magnet. Furthermore, the sensor is usually directly and easily visible.
Dropouts
Bosch Slim Sensor. If this sensor of your Bosch motor is integrated into the dropout of your bike, then this Badass Box 5 Slim Set also compatible.
The sensor is located near the dropout. If the sensor is integrated, you won't have a spoke magnet; instead, there's a magnet on the brake disc. To get a good view of the sensor, we recommend removing the rear wheel.
Important: The tool is NOT compatible with Bosch e-bikes with rim magnet or ABS / ABS Pro.

The tuning is done with the specially developed Boost Buddy App compatible, so you can benefit from a variety of practical additional functions (iOS & Android).
The housing of the Badass Box The 5 has been completely redesigned and, by popular request, features a seal. Unlike its predecessors, the badassBox 5 no longer slides onto a specific sensor type, but instead adapts to various drive systems using an adapter. This means that the new BadassBox 5 can continue to be used with a new adapter if you change e-bikes.
The BadassBox 5 can be easily updated with new firmware via any mobile phone, easily and free of charge. The optional BoostBuddy App Serves as a speedometer and for configuring tuning settings. It is powered by a proven AAA battery (replaceable at any time; replacement batteries are readily available). This eliminates the need for special cables and makes installation much easier.
To protect the bike from moisture and mechanical stress, the electronics were integrated into the housing of the Badass Box glued and completely sealed.
Please note that the E-Bike display when using the tuning no will no longer display the correct values (speed, distance, etc.). However, the correct data can be displayed via the app. We recommend simply attaching your phone to the handlebars using a standard mount.

Important: The manufacturer expressly advises against performing or having motor firmware upgrades performed, for example, at a bicycle service center. There is no guarantee that the tuning will still work afterward.

The Boost Buddy App was specially made for the Badass Box developed so that you can optimally adjust your driving experience:

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
Minimum order value:
The minimum order value is €25. Only above this amount are advance payment, PayPal, and bank transfer available as payment methods.

The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is €1.000. The maximum order value within the EU is €12.500.
