EBTsmart Unlock Key for Bosch Smart System: Digital activation for Bosch Smart System E-Bikes, with which the standard motor support can be optionally extended to up to 32 km / h or up to 45 km / h can be lifted – without additional hardware. In 32 km/h mode stay Speed, distance and mileage correct.
The EBTsmart Unlock Key is a browser-based solution for removing the 25 km/h speed limit on compatible devices Bosch Smart System drives. Activation takes place directly online – without software installation, without a chip, without a dongle, and without any intervention in the motor. All that is required is a PC, Mac or Android smartphone with browser as well as a suitable USB data cable for connection with the e-bike.

Important note regarding the BDU logic at Bosch Smart System:
For selecting the appropriate solution, the following is important: Bosch Smart System not only the designation “CX”, “Performance Line"Or"Smart System“Decisive, but often the exact BDU identifier is Drive Unit. The BDU is Bosch's internal designation for the drive and helps to clearly assign motor families and technical variants.
In practice, abbreviated information such as BDU31, BDU33, BDU37 or BDU38 used. These abbreviations usually stand for entire BDU families. Therefore, a shortened designation such as BDU37 Several specific sub-variants exist. Anyone who doesn't know their exact identifier should ideally find it in the... eBike Flow App check.

Important for practical purposes:
Abbreviated information such as BDU37 or BDU31 are often still not accurate enough, in order to classify each configuration in detail. Therefore, the decisive factor is always the specific BDU variant in conjunction with the respective system architecture, for example Wheel magnet, ABS, e-Shift or other smart system features.

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
