The EBTsmart Unlock Key is the ideal solution for anyone seeking a clean, digital unlocking method without additional components. Activation is performed online via a browser – no local installation, no dongle, no chip, and no modifications to the engine are required.
Technical requirements for browser access: The browser used must support WebUSB . Access is via a Windows computer, Mac, or Android smartphone with a USB data cable . iPhones and iPads are not supported.

Therefore, the decisive factor is always the specific BDU variant in conjunction with the respective system architecture, for example Wheel magnet, ABS, e-Shift or other smart system features.

Important: For certain smart system configurations with a wheel magnet, the EBTsmart Unlock Key Switch may also be relevant. However, it does not replace the regular EBTsmart Unlock Key across the board.

Why does my bike only go 25 km/h after being unlocked?
In most cases, the activation is already active. The maximum speed must also be adjusted in the eBike Flow app under the riding profiles.
Will the EBTsmart Unlock Key work with my bike?
The Unlock Key works with Bosch Smart System (BES3). The decisive factors are BDU, wheel magnet, ABS and e-Shift – not just the bicycle model.
Does this also work with a rim magnet?
Yes. The EBTsmart Unlock Key works with many configurations, both with and without a wheel magnet . The switch is only relevant in specific cases.
What about ABS?
With ABS , the activation works correctly up to 32 km/h . The 45 km/h function is not available.
Which devices are supported?
Windows computers , Macs , and Android smartphones with USB data cables are supported . iPhones and iPads are not compatible because the necessary browser access via WebUSB is not available on these devices.
Why do I need a USB data cable?
The connection is established directly via the browser. A simple charging cable is not sufficient – a data cable is required.
Will the activation be permanent?
Yes. The activation remains in place until it is actively reset.
Can I reverse the tuning?
Yes. You can always revert to the original setting of 25 km/h.
Will this still work after a Bosch update?
Currently released until: Engine / Drive Unit:20.27.0
This means that the EBTsmart Unlock Key also with current Bosch Smart System software versions compatible.
Can I use the license code on multiple bikes?
No. The license code is system-bound and not freely transferable.
What happens if the controller or central components are replaced?
Changing key system components can result in a technically different system. In this case, the existing license code may no longer be able to activate the tuning.
Does an error message like "License server error" appear?
This usually just means the server is currently overloaded. Simply try again after a few minutes using the login link.

Note on usage
This tuning product is intended exclusively for use on private property or for testing purposes with a Bosch e-mountain bike . Use on public roads is prohibited. More information and warnings can be found here.
Tip for price-conscious buyers: If you have more than one compatible one Bosch Smart If you want to unlock the e-bike system, the bundles offer a noticeably better price per license.
Installing an e-bike tuning chip in your e-bike may require special tools . Please check beforehand whether you need to open the motor compartment to access the motor's connectors. This applies particularly to products in the categories of modules , kits , dongles , and sensors.
If you don't opt for a tuning solution that requires installation in the engine compartment ( such as a tuning box or software ), you won't need the necessary tools. You'll find further tips in our guide .

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery time:
The processing time for physical products generally only begins after payment has been received . Within Germany, it usually takes 1–3 business days . In exceptional cases, processing may take up to 8 business days . Delivery times to other countries may vary.
Please note: You will only receive a DHL shipment confirmation once the shipment has been scanned for the first time at the parcel center. Only from this point onward will the shipment be trackable.
Due to high demand, ongoing incoming goods, or anticipated short-notice restocks, some products may experience longer processing times. We appreciate your understanding.
Note regarding digital products/license codes: License codes and license keys are not sent by mail, but by email . Processing begins only after payment has been received. Please note that instant bank transfers do not automatically result in a direct bank credit, and in some cases, credit card payments may also experience delays in payment reconciliation. The respective license code will then be generated and sent. This may take several hours in some cases. If you do not receive a license code, please always provide us with the order number in the format xxx-xxx-xxx.

Shipping:
Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.

The minimum order value is €25. Only above this amount are advance payment, PayPal, and bank transfer available as payment methods.
Maximum order value:
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is €1.000. The maximum order value within the EU is €12.500.
