MBIQ-P for TQ HPR 50
This tuning tool completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit for e-bikes with TQ HPR 50 mid-drive motors, allowing you to ride much faster with full motor support. This tuning is therefore limited to the absolute essentials; there are no additional functions.
The MBIQ-P is a plug-in solution that requires extremely little installation space. Since the tuning tool shares the same connectors as the existing sensor cable, it can be easily inserted between the engine control unit and the sensor (the existing speed sensor can be plugged in directly). Installation requires access to the connectors in the engine compartment.
Tuning is permanently active
As soon as you connect the MBIQ-P and switch on the e-bike, the tuning is automatically activated (=speed limit is lifted).
This is because e-bikes with TQ HPR 50 motors often lack a display, making it impossible to turn the tuning on and off. For this reason, the tuning has been configured to be always active ("Always On").
Of course, you can remove the MBIQ-P at any time if you want to restore the e-bike to its original condition.
Tip:
If you really want to turn the tuning on and off, there is a solution for that too.
The MBIQ-P has a special cable loop leading to the outside, which experienced users can use to implement an ON/OFF switch.
Loop closed (Delivery status): "Tuning permanently activated" mode, no speed limit.
Loop opened (or cut): "Tuning by activation condition" mode. Here, tuning is initially deactivated, and motor support only extends up to 25 km/h. However, tuning can be individually activated before each ride by positioning the magnet (which moves along the brake disc) in front of the sensor before switching on the system (e-bike). If the system is switched on in this way and the magnet remains in this state for at least 4 seconds, tuning is active for that ride.
This image shows an example of the magnet's trigger radius on the sensor. The magnet must be positioned within this range before starting to activate the tuning:

To deactivate the tuning again, it is sufficient to shut down the e-bike once and restart it without a "switch-on condition".
Important note: After connecting the MBIQ-P (tuning active), the e-bike display will be activated from approx. 22 km/h no The correct speed will no longer be displayed (the displayed speed will be "frozen"). The total mileage displayed will also be correspondingly lower.
Functionality
The MBIQ-P is a microcontroller-based tuning tool that works on the principle of speed manipulation. It processes the current speed profile and passes on manipulated values, eliminating the 25 km/h speed limit. It doesn't halve the speed, as is common with some other tuning tools.
The MBIQ-P requires no own battery, since the power supply is via the sensor path.
Compatibility
This MBIQ-P tuning tool is compatible with e-bikes with TQ-HPR 50 mid-engines.
Note: The TQ HPR50 motor is identical across all e-bike brands. So it doesn't matter whether you have a model with a TQ HPR50 drive from SCOTT, TREK, PINARELLO, etc.
The tool is compatible with all common engine firmwares from the manufacturer.
Weight of the MBIQ-P: approx. 5 g
Connection length: approx. 10 cm

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
