A microcontroller-based tuning tool as a practical plug-in solution. The MBIQ-P completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch e-bike mid-drive motors. This allows the Bosch drive to unleash its full power, allowing you to ride much faster with full motor support. This tuning tool has no other functions.
Because it uses original connectors, installing the MBIQ-P is quite simple. Essentially, you simply plug the e-bike's sensor connector into the MBIQ-P.
This tuning tool does not require a separate power supply or battery. The evaluation of the engine software is not affected by the manipulated values.
Functionality
Once the MBIQ-P is plugged in, the tool analyzes the current speed profile and forwards manipulated values. Speeds above 25 km/h are blocked for the motor firmware, so there is no longer a speed limit and the motor's full potential can be utilized. Please note: Due to this special functionality, the displayed speed always remains ≤ 25 km/h when tuning is active. From approximately 22 km/h, the display only shows manipulated values.
Three operating modes:
This tuning tool is programmable: With the MBIQ-P, you can set three different operating modes by making specific wheel movements when starting up the e-bike. You don't need any additional devices for this.
Tuning permanently activated (permanent removal of the speed limit, the displayed speed no longer corresponds to the actual speed above approx. 25 km/h).
Tuning permanently deactivated (motor support as normal up to 25 km/h, displayed speed corresponds to the real speed).
Tuning activation after power-on condition (tuning is always deactivated – but you can easily activate tuning by placing the magnet in front of the sensor for about 3-4 seconds during boot-up).
Simple installation
Installation of the tool is simple, as the MBIQ-P essentially only needs to be inserted between the speed sensor (which works in conjunction with the magnet attached to the rear wheel) and the engine control unit. The tool is extremely compact and requires minimal space, so it can easily be installed in the engine compartment.
To install the tuning, you need access to the connector end, which is plugged into the engine compartment. Accessing the engine compartment usually requires removing the left crank arm. Depending on the model, special tools may be required. You may also need to remove additional plastic covers to access the connector end.
Once this is done, carefully pull the connector out of the socket in the engine compartment. Plug the sensor's plug end into the designated socket on the MBIQ-P. The protruding end of the connector must be inserted into the socket on the engine. The tuning is complete!

MBIQ-P for Bosch Tuning Tool – Compatibility
The MBIQ-P is compatible with most common Bosch e-bike mid-engines: Active Line, Active Line Plus, Performance Line, Performance Line CX.
Also compatible with Bosch Gen4 (model year 2021/2021).
This tuning tool is compatible with all common engine firmwares.
Not compatible with Bosch Smart System 2022 (BES3).
Tip: Bosch Smart System E-Bikes (BES3) can be easily identified by the plug on the charging cable.
Does your Bosch e-bike have a round plug (as shown here), you have the correct Tuning module selected. If your Bosch e-bike does not have either of these plugs, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike, or you have an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
