MountainTuning Controller (MTC) Set 1: ePowerFun ePF-1 Tuning
Tuning power for your e-scooter! With this ingenious tuning set, you can increase the maximum speed of "ePowerFun ePF-1" E-scooters can reach speeds of up to 31 km/h. This provides a much more powerful riding experience and you can reach your destination much faster. It's also great that you can Mountain Tuning Controller allows you to use a cruise control function, which neither e-scooter comes with as standard. If you want to get the most out of your e-scooter, this tuning set is a must-have!
Control via app
To use the Mountain Tuning Controller, you have to use another app for your e-scooter, namely the free UNI Scooter App (available for Apple and Android). This has only advantages for you, as the range of functions of your e-bike is significantly increased:
- You can individually adjust the maximum speed, ranging from 6 km/h to 31 km/h. If you want to get used to the higher speed of your e-scooter, you can initially increase the top speed moderately, for example, to 24-25 km/h. Whatever you prefer!
- Cruise Control (Cruise Control): On longer journeys, the cruise control maintains the speed, making driving much more relaxing.
- Reset with a double click. The UNI Scooter app allows you to set 3 different modes: Factory Eco at 12 km/h, Normal at 25 km/h and Sport with a top speed of 31 km/h. You can easily switch between modes by double-clicking on the display. The app can be used to reduce the maximum speed in Sport mode as desired. In this case, the speeds in the other modes are also reduced accordingly – this means that if you set Sport mode to (for example) 25 km/h, you will drive at a maximum of 20 km/h in Normal mode and 9 km/h in Eco mode. This means that if you have set Sport mode to 25 km/h, you can quickly switch to Normal mode with a double-click in an emergency and then drive only at a maximum speed of 20 km/h – completely legally.
- The other functions of your e-scooter will not be affected.
After the renovation the ePowerFun Stop using the app! The use of the ePowerFun The app can irreversibly destroy the tuning function, as the ePF app overwrites the software on the display! This process cannot be reversed! In this case, we cannot accept returns, and a new set must be purchased. If the maximum speed is no longer adjustable and limited when using the UNI Scooter app on an Android smartphone in park mode, this limitation can be removed using the UNI Scooter app on an iOS smartphone. Using the UNI Scooter app may make different functions available than with the ePF app.
Important: This is the original Mountain Tuning Set, which includes the Hobbywing controller. Other sets and controllers with the UNI Scooter app can irreparably damage the scooter.

installation:
The Mountain Tuning Controller (MTC) Set 1 consists of two components: a 16A controller for 8,5-inch wheels and a display with a Bluetooth module. The Bluetooth module is important because it enables the connection to the app. For the tuning system to work, you must remove your e-bike's original controller and display and replace them with the new components. No special technical knowledge is required, so you can easily do the installation yourself—with a little technical skill.
To install the new controller, you need to unscrew the base plate of the ePF-1 e-scooter and remove the existing controller. Then, you need to replace the Mountain Tuning Install the controller – secure it using the screws and connect it to the appropriate connectors.

Once the display has been replaced, nothing stands in the way of optimizing your e-bike! Take off at speeds of up to 31 km/h and enjoy the added benefits of cruise control!
Note: If you have an ePF-1 e-scooter near built in 2021, it is sufficient only to replace the controller. However, the 2021 ePF-1's production display no longer connects to the app, so installing the new display is necessary.
Please keep in mind: By installing the Mountain Tuning Product MTC Set 1 you can set the maximum speed of your ePowerFun ePF-1 e-scooters. This will invalidate your e-scooter's operating license in Germany. However, you can use the tuning tool in regions where higher maximum speeds are permitted, for example, in some other countries (in Germany, according to the Small Electric Vehicles Regulations, a maximum speed of 20 km/h applies to e-scooters). Please always observe the local laws in the respective country.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
