The PearTune MSO 3.0 lifts the 25 km/h speed limit of Bosch Smart System e-bike motors. This gives you the option to finally utilize the full potential of these powerful drives. "MSO" therefore also stands for "Max Speed Off"!
This is the “NORMAL” version of the PearTune MSO 3.0 module, where you can conveniently switch the tuning on and off using the + and – buttons on your e-bike.
PC or smartphone are used to operate the PearTune Module is not required.
Tip: If your Bosch e-bike not equipped with the necessary control buttons, you can PearTune 3.0 also in a special Still On Order the version – in this case the tuning module is always active as soon as you switch on your e-bike.
Correct speed remains readable
If the tuning chip is activated, your e-bike display will show the correct speed up to 22,9 km/h. At higher values, the correct speed remains readable, albeit via the second digit and the decimal place of the speedometer. This means that a displayed speed of 23,3 km/h would actually correspond to 33 km/h, a display of 24,0 km/h would correspond to 40 km/h, etc.
The e-bike display shows all other values correctly.
Mounting
At the PearTune MSO 3.0 is a module that must be installed between the engine and the speed sensor, as well as between the engine and the speedometer (display). To access the necessary connectors, the plastic cover of the engine must be briefly removed during installation.
Attention: If you need a crank puller to open the engine, you can purchase this module to get a cheap crank puller in a special offer here buy with it.
Important: When you this PearTune If you want to use the module on a brand new e-bike, you should first ride the bike for at least 1 km before installing the tuning.
PearTune MSO 3.0 for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 – Features at a glance

PearTune MSO 3.0 for Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 Compatibility
- Bosch Smart System e-bikes with mid-engines from 2022 (also known as “Bosch BES3”)
- Also compatible with Bosch Smart System Gen5 (from 2024), sometimes referred to as “Bosch CX Gen5” (assuming the e-bike does not have a rim magnet or ABS Pro).
- Compatible with all displays & control units: Kiox 300 / Kiox 500 / Kiox BUI330 / Intuvia 100 / System Controller / LED Remote / Mini Remote/ Purion 200. Also compatible with Purion 400 (Bosch Gen5).
- Addendum: Compatible with Bosch Smart System Upgrade April 2025 This tuning tool is also compatible with the Bosch Smart System upgrade from April 2025 (sometimes referred to as version "15.10.1" or "15.13.1"). You can identify the upgrade by the following software versions: Drive Unit Performance Line CX: 15.24.2 / LED Remote: 15.12.3 / Kiox 300: 15.10.0 / PowerTube 750: 15.10.1
- Compatible with LED-Remote software version 11.9.3 and the drive unit firmware (Drive Unit) 11.13.0. Also compatible with firmware 12.13.0 / 13.13.1However, do not perform any further software updates on the drive system. This may impair the functionality of the tuning.
- This tuning module is also compatible with the Bosch Update 13.13.1. The tuning works normally (no error messages).
- Older software versions are also compatible.
Attention: Please do not perform any Bosch updates after installing and using a tuning program! Compatibility may no longer be guaranteed afterward!
Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve (rim magnet). These sensors are installed deep within the motor and cannot be optimized with this module.
Not compatible with Bosch e-bikes with ABS system!
For Bosch Smart System E-Bikes without the + and – buttons required to activate/deactivate the tuning, the module is also available in a Still On Variant in which the tuning is always active after the bike is switched on.
Our advice: The PearTune The MSO 3.0 Tuning Module is limited in its functionality to the absolute essentials - namely the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit. This module is also available in a MSO 4.0 Version that has a significantly wider range of functions. For example, the maximum supported speed can be set to an individual value; or you can specify a custom activation code. The Chip lock Function that makes the tuning temporarily “invisible” to outsiders:

Tip: Bosch Smart System E-Bikes (BES3) can be easily identified by the plug on the charging cable.

Does your Bosch E-Bike charging cable have a square plug (as shown above), you have the correct Tuning module selected (if the bike does not have ABS and a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either of these connectors, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike, or you have an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
