With this tuning module you can Specialized E-bikes in many ways. The core function is the removal of the speed limit – so you can make your vehicle faster (“MSO” = “Max Speed Off”). PearTune MSO 4.0 now even offers the option to individually adjust the maximum supported speed.
You also benefit from many cool additional features – a particularly original feature is the "chip lock," which allows you to make the module virtually invisible to outsiders. The e-bike then functions as if no tuning tool were installed – meaning outsiders can no longer detect that the e-bike has been tuned. Only after a certain period of time has elapsed can the module be reactivated using a specific key combination.
You don't need a PC or smartphone to operate the module; you can control everything using the buttons on your e-bike.
The PearTune MSO 4.0 is a module that must be attached to the e-bike using the original connectors. It connects between the display and motor, as well as between the magnetic speed sensor and motor. Thanks to the "plug & play" principle, no complicated configuration is required.
Tuning can be switched on and off
You can do that PearTune Activate/deactivate the module as needed. However, there are differences depending on the e-bike model:
- Using the WALK button – depending on the model, either a long press (e.g. on the latest VADO 2022) or a short press (e.g. on the old LEVO e-bike) is necessary.
- Activation by pressing +-+- four times
- Activation using ++-- or --++ or +-+- or -+-+
When you activate or deactivate the tuning, a short confirmation appears on the display.

- Repeal of the 25 km/h speed limit.
- Maximum speed can be individually adjusted (in 1 km/h increments using the + and – buttons).
- Tuning can be switched on and off using the bike's control buttons.
- When tuning is active, the correct speed is only displayed up to a speed of approximately 24 km/h. At higher speeds, the speed display is "frozen."
- Chip lock ("Lock the Chip"): This allows you to make the tuning virtually invisible to outsiders. Activate the chip lock using the bike's control buttons to lock the module in software. The e-bike will then function normally – as if no tuning tool were installed. The tuning can also be temporarily disabled. Only after a certain period of time can the tuning be reactivated using a specific key combination.
- Individual activation code can be set.
- Tuning status when switching on: Specify whether the tuning should be active or inactive when the e-bike is switched on.
- Chip Reset: If you PearTune If you want to connect the module to another e-bike or change the speed sensor, you can perform a chip reset. You can either keep the chip settings or restore the factory settings.
- Addition of the correct driven kilometers: If the tuning module is switched on, the driven distance is no longer displayed correctly. PearTune With MSO 4.0 you can now set how the missing kilometers should be recalculated or supplemented – e.g. only when stopping, or also as a supplement while driving and when stopping, etc.
- The tuning module does not require an extra battery; power is conveniently supplied via the e-bike battery.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery takes 1-3 business days within Germany. In exceptional cases, it can take up to 8 business days. Delivery times outside Germany may take longer. Please understand that due to high demand, some products may experience longer delivery times.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
