With the PearTune With version 4.0, Yamaha PW-X3, PW-S2, and now also PW-XM engines can be optimized in many ways. The most important feature, of course, is the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit—accordingly, "MSO" stands for "Max Speed Off." Even with active tuning, the display continues to show the correct speed.
But that PearTune 4.0 offers much more: For example, the speed limit isn't simply removed; the maximum speed can even be adjusted to a desired level using the control buttons on the e-bike. The advantage: If you increase the maximum assisted speed only slightly, for example, from 25 to 35 km/h, you benefit from significantly faster riding performance without a significant increase in energy consumption.
Particularly noteworthy is the so-called "Chip-Lock" function. This feature allows the PearTune 4.0 virtually "invisible." Outsiders will then no longer be able to detect that a tuning module has been installed (in this case, the e-bike and display will function completely normally, and the tuning will temporarily no longer be able to be activated).
The PearTune The MSO 4.0 module must be connected to the drivetrain between the motor and the display, and between the motor and the magnetic speed sensor. To facilitate installation, the module is equipped with waterproof original connectors ("plug & play" principle). Tuning can be turned on and off at any time using the control buttons.

Chip lock ("Lock the Chip" function): This function makes the tuning module virtually invisible. If the chip lock is activated via the control buttons on the e-bike, the tuning chip is locked by software, so no one can detect that a tuning tool is installed. In this case, the e-bike and its display function completely normally, and the tuning cannot be activated. Re-unlocking is only possible using a special key combination.
Chip activation: You can turn the tuning chip on or off at any time by briefly pressing the light button twice. When turning the chip on or off, the display briefly shows whether the tuning has actually been activated or deactivated (the values 9.9 or 9/2.5 or 2 are briefly displayed).
Tuning status when switching on: With PearTune 4.0 you can set whether the tuning should be automatically switched on or off when the e-bike is switched on.
Chip reset: You can perform a chip reset, for example, if you want to replace the speed sensor or use the tuning chip on a different e-bike. This reset can restore the factory settings. Alternatively, you can keep the previous chip settings.
Adding the correct mileage: When tuning is enabled, the actual distance traveled is no longer displayed while driving. You can now configure how the missing mileage should be recalculated or added—for example, only when stopping, or as a supplement while driving and when stopping, etc.
Switching between normal and still-on version possible (with the still-on version, the tuning is always active as soon as the e-bike is switched on / suitable for e-bikes without the necessary control buttons).
The module does not require its own battery (power is supplied via the display connector).
Plug & Play: For easy installation, the tuning module is equipped with original plugs.
Small, compact, and lightweight: The module is very small and therefore easy to install. It weighs only 12g.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery takes 1-3 business days within Germany. In exceptional cases, it can take up to 8 business days. Delivery times outside Germany may take longer. Please understand that due to high demand, some products may experience longer delivery times.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
