A high-end tuning tool with app specifically for Haibike E-bikes with Yamaha PW-X3 and PW-S2 motors (Display A / Side Switch).
The RedPed 3 is probably one of the tuning solutions with the most optimization options ever. This module is equipped with the practical RedPed App compatible, offering a wide range of setting options. Furthermore, the app displays numerous parameters that are much more comprehensive than on the usual Yamaha displays. This allows you to create your own personal Performance much better to monitor.
As a core function of the RedPed 3 Tuning Module must be mentioned the unlocking of the e-bike, i.e. the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit. This gives you the opportunity to ride much faster with full motor support. The app even allows you to set the maximum assisted speed to a desired value. There are also other original features such as the "Speed Offset" or the "Workshop Mode." These are truly unique features that are only available in this form with the RedPed module. All this at unkempt Speed display on the display.
By the way: Since the RedPed 3 Tuning can also be conveniently switched on and off using the e-bike's control buttons, so you don't need to take your smartphone with you on every ride. Basically, it's enough to use the RedPed You can use the app to make the desired settings on the module once. Keep in mind, however, that you can view many useful riding parameters via the app—more than the Yamaha displays have to offer.
RedPed 3 - Functions & Features at a Glance
-Repeal of the 25 km/h speed limit: Ride much faster with full motor support.
-Set maximum speed individually. About the RedPed The maximum speed can be set to an individual value in the app, from 15 km/h to 45 km/h (please note that 45 km/h is a theoretical maximum speed; the actual speed depends on various factors such as the chainring, motor and load).
-Display of detailed driving data about the RedPedApp (see below).
-Tuning can be switched on and off, either via the app or using the control buttons on the e-bike (e.g. using the light button).
-Tuning activation with app: Here you can set whether the tuning should only be active for one ride or always as soon as you switch on the e-bike.
-Correct values in the e-bike displayEven when tuning is active, the display correctly shows values such as the current speed and the distance traveled.
-Speed Offset: This function allows you to reduce the speed shown on the display by up to -15 km/h. For example, if you set a value of -10 km/h and are driving at (say) 35 km/h, your display will still only show 25 km/h, etc.
-Visibility: Use this feature to set how long the RedPed Module in the RedPed app should be discoverable after the e-bike has been switched on. This way you can prevent unauthorized access to the RedPed prevent.
-Troll mode: In this mode, the communication between the motor and the display is disconnected if the smartphone does not connect to the display within the time set by the user. RedPed Module connects. This causes an error on the e-bike display (but the bike continues to ride, with assistance in emergency mode). The error can be resolved by removing the module or the battery. This function can make life difficult for people who have access to the e-bike but aren't actually supposed to ride it.
-Workshop mode: Once this mode is set, the CAN BUS data is transmitted through the RedPed The module is no longer tampered with. Very practical if you need to take your e-bike to the workshop.
-Share speed at: Sets how the speed should be divided internally (10-24 km/h). The higher the value, the better. However, if the value is set too high, motor assistance will stop before the maximum speed is reached. In this case, the value must be reduced again.
-Tuning Timer: This deactivates the tuning after a user-defined time.
-Set PIN: This means that RedPed protected from unauthorized access.
-Create a personal Module names firmly.
-Wheel diameter Enter (18,7" - 31,2").
-Reset is possible.
-Correct mileage after re-removing the tuning module.
Data display via app
RedPed App you can not only change the settings of the RedPed You can also set up the module, and view many useful driving parameters while on the go. RedPed 3 Module - Installation & Functionality
The RedPed 3 The module must be connected between the speed sensor and the motor, as well as between the motor and the display. It is usually placed in the connection area of the motor (sometimes it may be necessary to install it in the frame tube). To access the required connectors during installation, the protective cover of the motor must be temporarily removed. RedPed needed no own battery; since the power supply is provided by the e-bike battery.
After installation, the RedPed The module detects the actual speed and generates its own, lower speed signal. When the bike is turned on, the module disconnects communication between the motor control unit and the e-bike display, allowing its own, manipulated data to be sent to the display. This allows the 25 km/h speed limit to be exceeded, allowing much faster riding with full motor support.

This tuning tool is compatible with Haibike E-bikes with the following Yamaha Powerdrive (PW) drives from 2023:
-Yamaha PW-X3, Yamaha PW-X3 + Interface X (e.g. Raymon 160E 11.0 SE)
-Yamaha PW-S2
These engines are mainly used in Haibike E-bikes are used. Some model series that use the aforementioned motors include the Haibike XDURO AllMtn, XDURO Nduro, and XDURO Trekking.

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
