simPLEk for Yamaha
An affordable tuning solution for e-bikes with Yamaha engines. sIMPLEk you can completely remove the speed limit of your Yamaha drive and ride much faster than before with full motor support! However, please note that sIMPLEk This is a kit that you'll need to assemble yourself before use, including with the help of a soldering iron. So, this tuning tool requires a bit of skill and DIY skills.
If the sIMPLEk When tuning is active, the current speed remains visible on the speedometer, but it is displayed using the second digit and the decimal place of the speedometer. This means that if your Yamaha display shows 10,0 km/h, the actual speed is 0 km/h. If the display shows (for example) 13,5 km/h, the current speed is actually 35 km/h, etc.
Maximum speed, distance traveled and total distance traveled, however, are displayed correctly - but these parameters are only adjusted after approximately 1 minute of standstill.
If you sIMPLEk Once you have installed it for the first time, you must perform a calibration once so that the actual speed is displayed.
At the sIMPLEk Tuning Tuning Tool has a total of 3 operating modes:
- 1:1 mode (e-bike behaves as in its original state)
- Tuning mode (speed limit removed)
- Calibration mode
In the standard configuration, the e-bike always starts with tuning switched off (1:1 mode).
To switch from one mode to another, you must turn off the e-bike within 10 seconds of starting in the respective mode. Wait 5 seconds and immediately turn the e-bike back on – it will then automatically switch to the next mode.
Tip: When soldering the sIMPLEk Tuning tools bridge a specific connection (“J1”) on the circuit board so that the tuning mode is always activated as soon as you switch on the e-bike (1:1 mode is not available).

As already mentioned, the sIMPLEk The tuning tool is supplied as a kit consisting of five individual parts (circuit board, microcontroller, capacitor, diode, and industrial connector). According to the manufacturer, assembly should only be carried out by a qualified person in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Of course, it's also possible to assemble the device yourself using a soldering iron; the assembly itself is quite simple and shouldn't pose a problem for people with a little DIY skill. However, we assume no responsibility or liability for any damage or errors that occur during assembly or soldering.
To install the sIMPLEk Tuning tools, the engine cover must first be removed. Then, several mounting screws must be removed so that the engine can be swung out of the frame and the corresponding connectors become visible. Unplug the speed sensor connector. After that, sIMPLEk simply be connected between the Yamaha engine and the speed sensor. After installation, the sIMPLEk Tuning tool not visible from the outside.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery takes 1-3 business days within Germany. In exceptional cases, it can take up to 8 business days. Delivery times outside Germany may take longer. Please understand that due to high demand, some products may experience longer delivery times.

Shipping:
Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
