The SIMPLEk tuning module as a practical finished product. sIMPLEk Pro is an affordable tuning tool that reduces the speed limit of e-bikes with Bafang Max Drive Motors completely – you can finally use the full potential of your drive and ride much faster than 25 km/h with full motor support. Unlike some other tuning modules, the real speed remains sIMPLEk Pro can still be read on the e-bike display (see below for more detailed information).
Simple installation
In contrast to the conventional “sIMPLEk Kit for Bafang" you have to use the "sIMPLEk Pro" - the "Pro" version is always delivered as a finished product. Since the sIMPLEk Since this is a tuning module, it must be permanently installed in the motor housing of your Bafang drive. To access the required connectors, you must remove the crank of your Bafang e-bike and the motor cover. Unplug the speed sensor and connect the sIMPLEk Module between the motor and the speed sensor. Then all you need to do is reattach the engine cover and crank – and the installation is complete. Incidentally, the tuning module is not visible from the outside after installation.
Tuning mode can be turned on or off
In contrast to some other e-bike tuning modules, the sIMPLEk Pro tuning mode is not permanently activated. When you turn on your e-bike, tuning mode is always deactivated and your e-bike functions as usual, i.e., with a speed limit. To activate tuning, you simply need to turn the e-bike off and on again within 10 seconds of starting. To indicate that tuning is active, the speedometer will then display a speed of 10 km/h when stationary. Tuning mode is now activated and the speed limit is lifted.
Real speed remains readable
Some e-bike tuning modules have the problem that the correct speed is no longer shown on the e-bike display when tuning is active. This problem occurs with sIMPLEk Pro doesn't. Even with active tuning, the actual tempo remains readable, albeit via the second digit and the decimal place on the display. Here are a few examples:

The other values, such as total kilometers and the maximum speed, are also displayed correctly, but these data are only adjusted after approximately 1 minute of standstill.

Important: This module is not compatible with e-bike mid-drive motors that do not have a "Max Drive“ Engines are (e.g. M420).
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
