sIMPLEk Pro for Shimano EP8 / EP800
This efficient tuning tool completely removes the 25 km/h speed limit on e-bikes with Shimano EP8 / EP800 motors and Di2 electronic shifting. By eliminating the annoying speed limit, you can finally utilize your bike's full potential and ride much faster with full motor support.
Correct tempo remains readable
When tuning is active:
Up to a speed of 20 km/h, the speed is displayed normally. Beyond 20 km/h, the correct speed is indicated by the second digit and the decimal place. This means that a speed of 22,9 km/h would actually correspond to 29 km/h, and if the display shows (for example) 24,1 km/h, you are actually traveling at 41 km/h, etc. This principle has the advantage that the otherwise revealing speed display always remains within a moderate, realistic range.
The distance traveled is automatically updated after one minute of standstill. This means that at the end of the trip, both the maximum speed and the distance and total distance are displayed correctly.
Simple installation
The sIMPLEk The module has the advantage of being quite easy to install. Basically, you only have to remove the engine cover, unplug a connector and sIMPLEk Insert the module. This is easy thanks to precisely fitting connectors. After reattaching the motor cover, only a simple, one-time calibration needs to be performed. Calibration starts automatically the first time the bike is used: The speedometer will display an increasing speed, and as soon as a speed of approximately 10 km/h is displayed, the e-bike must be turned off and immediately turned back on. The speed will then be displayed again, but this time in small increments. Now you only have to turn off at exactly 10 km/h, and the calibration is complete. Calibration is necessary so that the maximum speed, distance, and total kilometers are displayed as accurately as possible.
After installation, the sIMPLEk Module not visible from the outside.
Important note: Before using the module, please make sure it is connected to the correct slot, i.e., the speed sensor (the location of the speed sensor is explained in the enclosed user manual). The module contains a fuse that will trip if connected to the wrong slot and must then be replaced.
You can test whether it's the speed sensor connector as follows: As soon as the connector is unplugged, the system no longer receives any speedometer signals, and when the rear wheel is turned, the speedometer remains at 0,0 km/h. When the connector is plugged back in, the speedometer appears again.
Tuning can be switched on and off
After turning on the e-bike, tuning is always initially deactivated – this means that the e-bike functions normally, with motor support up to 25 km/h. To activate the tuning module, an activation routine must be performed: You must turn on the bike and let it fully rev up, then immediately turn it off again. You then have to wait a moment and turn the bike on again. Tuning mode is now activated, and the speed limit has been lifted, which is confirmed by a 10 km/h display on the speedometer. The tuning then remains active until you turn the bike off again.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
