sIMPLEk Pro "Stealth Edition" for Bosch Smart System 2022 (BES3)
The new sIMPLKEk Pro for Bosch Gen4 Smart System The first tuning module for the new generation of Bosch engines will be available on the market in 2022. Due to new connectors for the new Bosch system, a new generation of tuning modules will be necessary.
The features of the new sIMPLEK Pro:
- Compatible with the Bosch Gen4 Smart System 2022 engine and Kiox 300 SMART.
- The speed limit of 25 km/h will be postponed or lifted.
- The actual speed remains readable, and the maximum speed, distance traveled, and total distance are displayed correctly. The actual speed is displayed above 20 km/h via the second digit and decimal place of the speedometer. The maximum speed and distance displays are adjusted after approximately one minute of stationary operation.
- Totally simple installation. Precisely fitting connectors. Only one plug needs to be pulled out and the sIMPLEk be interposed.
- Not visible from the outside. In the standard configuration, the e-bike always starts with tuning deactivated without any intervention.
At the sIMPLEk A maximum speed of 37,5 km/h is possible per "Stealth Edition" module. This minimizes the likelihood of error messages. normal version There is no maximum speed specified.
Caution: Please do not perform any Bosch updates after installing and using a tuning! Compatibility may no longer be guaranteed.
Important: Not compatible with e-bikes that have a magnet on the valve (rim magnet). On these models, the sensors are mounted deep within the motor. In this case, the tuning module may only be usable by unlocking the conventional sensor and relocating the sensor to a spoke magnet. These tips are provided without guarantee. Not compatible with Bosch e-bikes with ABS systems.
With the tuning module the Speed limit of 25 km/h postponedThe module must when switching of the e-bike by a Activation routine be activated, otherwise the e-bike always behaves as in its original state.
The actual speed remains visible. Up to 20 km/h, the speed is displayed normally. Above 20 km/h, it is displayed using the second digit and the decimal place. This keeps the otherwise revealing average speed on the display within a realistic range. Examples:
- Displayed 22,9 km/h corresponds to 29 km/h
- Displayed 23,4 km/h corresponds to 34 km/h
- Displayed 23,8 km/h corresponds to 38 km/h
The distance travelled is automatically updated after one minute of standstill. Thus, at the end of the tour maximum speed, distance and total kilometers correct.
There is one for this one-time simple calibration This starts automatically the first time the bike is used: The speedometer displays an increasing speed. As soon as approximately 10,0 km/h is displayed, the e-bike must be turned off and then turned back on. The speedometer will now again display a speed increase in small increments, and it must be turned off at exactly 10,0 km/h.
Tip: To minimize the number of error codes generated in the new Bosch system, the calibration value 10,0 is recommended in the "Stealth Edition." However, this is only necessary if error codes occur at all. The well-known code 504 is sIMPLEk Pro is not generated. All information can be found in the enclosed user manual.
Procedure in brief:
BEFORE During calibration, set the wheel circumference to the default value (factory settings), then start the calibration and perform it to 10,0.
AFTER calibration, permanently set the wheel circumference to the smallest possible value.
Then the tuning mode also starts at 10,0 km/h and the displayed speed is correct.
Important note:
Due to the tightened tuning detection in the latest Bosch firmware versions, it is advisable to reduce the motor assistance limit when using tuning continuously. However, this means that the actual speed is no longer easily readable in tuning mode – values must be subtracted mentally. The actual speed remains readable only (via the second digit and the decimal place) if the maximum speed limit has not been reduced. See the following table:

Tip: Bosch Smart System E-Bikes (BES3) can be easily identified by the plug on the charging cable.
SQUARE plug = Bosch Smart System BES3 (Gen4) + Bosch Gen5:

ROUND plug = Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4:

Does your Bosch E-Bike charging cable have a square plug (as shown above), you have the correct Tuning module selected (if the bike does not have ABS and a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either of these connectors, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike, or you have an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).
Addendum: Compatible with Bosch Smart System Upgrade April 2025
This tuning tool is, in all likelihood, also compatible with the Bosch Smart System upgrade from April 2025 (sometimes referred to as version "15.10.1" or "15.13.1"). You can identify the upgrade by the following software versions:
-Drive Unit Performance Line CX: 15.24.2
-LED Remote: 15.12.3
-Kiox 300: 15.10.0
-PowerTube 750: 15.10.1
The sIMPLEk Stick is Made in Germany.
Tools
Installing an e-bike tuning chip in your e-bike may require special tools . Please check beforehand whether you need to open the motor compartment to access the motor's connectors. This applies particularly to products in the categories of modules , kits , dongles , and sensors.
Normally (but not always), opening the motor compartment requires loosening the crankset. For this, you'll need a crank puller . Some motors also require a spider tool to open the lockring on the chainring – the chainring needs to be loosened to remove the motor cover and access the motor's interior. If you want to replace the chainring (due to wear or to change the gear ratio), you'll often need a spider tool as well . You can find the necessary special tool in our shop. Finally, removing the motor cover usually requires a Torx or Allen wrench. For installing the modules, appropriate pliers from the electronics sector are suitable.
If you don't opt for a tuning solution that requires installation in the engine compartment ( such as a tuning box or software ), you won't need the necessary tools. You'll find further tips in our guide .

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
