At the sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus is the first tuning tool that allows you to tune the range of your e-bike. This tuning tool increases not the 25 km/h speed limit of the motor support, but also ensures a clear Plus in range (up to 20 percent). sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus is therefore the optimal tuning tool if you want to ride a very long distance with your e-bike or simply want to avoid running out of power on the way.
The functioning of the sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus is as simple as it is ingenious:
The built-in sIMPLEk ECOplus Stick causes a phased reduction of the factory-integrated speed limit of the motor support.
This means that as soon as the ECOplus Stick used for Yamaha detects a constant speed, the motor assistance is gradually turned off. If the speed drops below a certain value or is exceeded for a certain period of time, the motor assistance is gradually reactivated. This process results in a significantly increased range, as more muscle power is required from the rider. Overall, energy savings of up to 20 percent can be expected in ECOplus mode.
The 25 km/h limit of the motor support remains completely unaffected.
You have the option to sIMPLEk ECOplus Stick can be attached to your e-bike in a position of your choosing – the most practical option is probably to attach it directly to the handlebars.
Note: The sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus comes as a kit that requires assembly. Since it only consists of four components—the circuit board, USB connector, case, and connecting cable—assembly is quite simple. Installation is also made easier by the fact that the circuit board is already equipped with the necessary SMD components. Essentially, all you have to do is insert the USB connector onto the circuit board and solder it (using a soldering iron, of course). Then, all you have to do is insert the circuit board, complete with the USB connector, into the included USB case.
sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus for Yamaha - Installation
The installation of the sIMPLEk Sticks ECOplus is uncomplicated. The connection cable of the sIMPLEk Stick ECOplus must be installed in front of the e-bike's original sensor. To do this, you must first remove the stone guard and then loosen the motor screws until it can be swung out of the frame. This gives you access to the connectors. You must then unplug the speed sensor and sIMPLEk Connect between motor and speed sensor.
Reattach the motor and replace the previously removed screws. Now all you need to do is route the USB connection cable to the desired position of the SIMPLEk Stick and secure it with the included cable ties. We recommend mounting it directly on the handlebar, so you can attach or remove the stick at any time.
To activate the ECOplus mode you must sIMPLEk Simply plug in the stick – and the range of your e-bike will be significantly increased!
Even when ECOplus mode is activated, the correct traveled speed remains visible on the e-bike display. Up to a speed of 30 km/h, the current speed is displayed 1:1. Above this speed, or when motor assistance is deactivated, the current speed is shown via the second digit and the decimal place on the display. Here are a few examples:
17 km/h on the display = 17 km/h in reality
31,8 km/h on the display = 18 km/h in reality
33,5 km/h on the display = 35 km/h in reality
Note: When using this tuning tool for the first time, a one-time calibration is necessary so that the actual speed is displayed for each wheel circumference in the active ECOplus mode.

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
