The total distance is shown correctly on the e-bike display, but only after a "countdown" has elapsed after the end of the ride.

At the SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning Chip even allows you to set the desired top speed to an individual value. However, you should not set a value above 35 km/h, because then the Bosch anti-tuning software could kick in.

Important: From Bosch Firmware 9.13.0 of the Drive Unit (DU) compatibility is very limited. This Speedbox has limited compatibility. Please look for either the corresponding RimBoost V2.37 or V2.38 or the new Badass 5 instead. here .

Attention: We also strongly advise against downloading new Bosch motor firmware, as this may lead to further incompatibilities with the SpeedBox Tuning. Please note that the warranty for SpeedBox This warranty does not apply to malfunctions caused by updating the motor. Therefore, please do not install Bosch updates! Installation is particularly difficult and time-consuming. It also depends on the motor position and the bicycle frame. Installation can certainly fail. We would like to point this out.

Tuning can be activated / deactivated

The operation of the tuning chip is simple. The tuning can not only be switched on via the SpeedBox app, but also by briefly pressing the WALK function (holding down the "-" button). For confirmation, the e-bike display briefly shows 3.5 km/h (2.2 mph). This signals that tuning has been activated and the 25 km/h limit has been lifted.

To deactivate tuning, simply briefly press the WALK function again (hold down the "-" button). The display will briefly show 2.5 km/h (1.6 mph) – this indicates that tuning has been deactivated; the speed limit will return to 25 km/h.

There are also e-bikes that do not have the WALK function or that have it active. In this case, tuning can also be turned on and off by double-switching between two modes, i.e., using the key combination - + - +.

Please note: Switching the tuning on and off should always be done before, and not while driving!

The manufacturer SpeedBox also recommends leaving the Bosch E-Bike switched on after the end of the ride until the SpeedBox has finished the "countdown" to avoid any tuning detection (the countdown is indicated by the continuation of the driving time on the display until it stops and finally the correct total distance is shown).

Set maximum speed

The maximum speed can be adjusted if required via the SpeedBox Set up the app.

Alternatively, you can change the maximum assisted speed by switching the modes down three steps, starting from TURBO mode, and then up three steps again: TURBO - eMTB - TOUR+ - ECO - TOUR+ - eMTB - TURBO. The current speed limit will then be displayed. The speed limit can be reset by briefly pressing the WALK function or turning the rear wheel 3°. A displayed speed of 360 km/h would correspond to a maximum speed of 2.5 km/h, 25 would correspond to 3.0 km/h, 30 would correspond to 3.5 km/h, etc. The last displayed speed limit is saved after 35 seconds of inactivity.

The manufacturer recommends not exceeding a maximum speed of 35 km/h.

The SpeedBox App was specially developed for the SpeedBox B.Tuning Chips developed. The connection between the e-bike and smartphone is wireless via Bluetooth technology. Operating manual

The SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning is a tuning chip that must be permanently connected to the connectors on the e-bike drive. Original connectors are used in the production of the tuning chip, ensuring the simplest and most accurate connection possible.

If you are the SpeedBoxapp for the first time, you will be asked to set a PIN. You will need to enter this PIN each time you start the SpeedBoxapp. After selecting the PIN, you will also be prompted to set a service password (super PIN). You can use this password if you forget the PIN or want to change it.

If you have one SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning Chip in a brand new e-bike, you have to at least 10 km ride the e-bike before you switch on the chip for the first time.

Important: Connect the plugs towards the lock and do not turn the plugs while plugging them in!

Important information - Please note:

-A maximum speed of 35 km/h should not be exceeded.

-SpeedBox recommends updating the Bosch e-bike software not to update (therefore please deactivate the "Automatic Update" function in the eBike Flow app).

-The activation or deactivation of the tuning chip should always near the journey and not while driving. 

-Leave the e-bike switched on for a while after the end of the ride until the SpeedBox has finished the "countdown" (indicated by the continuation of the driving time on the display until it stops and the correct driving distance is shown) in order to avoid tuning detection by the Bosch software.

-If you have a SpeedBox 1.2 B.Tuning Chip in a brand new e-bike, you must first at least 10 km ride the e-bike before activating the chip for the first time.

-During short breaks, keep one foot on the pedal to prevent the countdown trigger process from starting, allowing you to continue riding seamlessly.

-For longer stops, you should at least run a partial "countdown" (deducting the kilometers).

-Do not remove the display from the bike until the "countdown" (deduction of kilometers) is complete.

 

Compatibility

The tuning chip is only compatible with Bosch Smart System (+Bosch SX) E-Bikes with rim magnet or valve magnet (rim magnet). Bosch Smart System e-bikes are sometimes referred to as "BES3" ("Bosch Development Stage 3").

-Compatible with all engines used in Bosch Smart System can be used, e.g. Performance Line (CX / CX Race / SX). Also compatible with Bosch SX motors!

-Compatible with all displays listed in the Bosch Smart System E-Bikes are used.

-According to the manufacturer, compatible with Bosch software version up to 11.13.0 / 12.13.0. Attention: In our experience, compatibility is from Bosch Firmware 9.13.0 onwards. -Compatible with the SpeedBox App

-Bosch Smart System E-Bikes with ABS system.

Important: From Bosch Firmware 9.13.0 of the Drive Unit (DU) compatibility is very limited. This also applies to other solutions for the Bosch rim magnet on the market.

Tip: Bosch Smart System E-Bikes (BES3) can be easily identified by the plug on the charging cable.

Does your Bosch E-Bike charging cable have a square plug (as shown above), you have the correct Tuning module selected (if the bike does not have ABS and a standard magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either of these connectors, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike, or you have an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).
