The SpeedBox 1.6 B.Tuning is a specially developed tuning solution for Bosch Smart 5th generation e-bike system with Rim magnetThis version is specifically aimed at Bosch Gen5 models based on the BDU38 platform and combines the removal of the 25 km/h speed limit with convenient control via SpeedBox App.
Thanks to integrated Bluetooth interface You can control the tuning directly via smartphone, adjust the speed limit individually, and access real-time riding data. At the same time, all important functions remain accessible via the control buttons on the e-bike. So you don't necessarily need to carry a smartphone with you on every ride, but the app offers significantly more convenience and additional features.
Another advantage of this version: Unlike some other solutions for Bosch Smart E-bike systems with rim magnets must no separate magnet simulator is positioned This makes the installation cleaner, simpler, and less prone to errors.

The SpeedBox 1.6 B.Tuning can be done either directly via the SpeedBox App or controlled via the e-bike's controls.

2.5 km/h = Tuning deactivated
Activation and deactivation should generally be only when stationary and not while driving.
Setting the maximum speed
The maximum assisted speed can be most conveniently set via the SpeedBox Adjust the settings in the app. Alternatively, the adjustment can also be made directly on the e-bike.
To do this, you switch between support modes in the following order:
TURBO → eMTB → TOUR+ → ECO → TOUR+ → eMTB → TURBO
The currently set speed limit will then be displayed. This can then be changed via the WALK function or by a 360° rotation of the rear wheel to be changed.
The display corresponds to the set maximum value, for example:
2.5 km/h = 25 km/h
3.0 km/h = 30 km/h
3.5 km/h = 35 km/h
After a short period of inactivity, the last selected setting is automatically saved.
SpeedBox App – Live data, control and additional functions
The SpeedBox 1.6 B.Tuning can be controlled via Bluetooth with the free SpeedBox App Connect for iOS and Android. This gives you access to numerous additional features:
Activate or deactivate tuning directly via the app
Retrieve real speed, motor power, battery level and cadence
Set an individual speed limit
Hide tuning in the app
View driving statistics and diagnostic data
The app is particularly helpful when actively tuning, because the e-bike display then No correct live values displays. In this case, you can easily read the actual data via your smartphone.
When you launch the app for the first time, you will be prompted to set a PIN. Additionally, a service password can be set up in case you want to change or reset the PIN later.
Note: Your smartphone should support Bluetooth 4.0 or higher to connect to the module.

Important instructions

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.
