A reliable third generation tuning chip that exceeds the 25 km/h speed limit of e-bikes with Giant SyncDrive Pro Motor 2022 and RideControl Go completely eliminate this limitation. You even have the option to set the maximum speed to a custom value.
Even with active tuning, the e-bike display shows correct values, such as speed, daily distance and range.
Tuning can be switched on and off
After installing the SpeedBox 3.1 chips, the tuning can be conveniently activated using the WALK button. The display briefly shows a value of 9,9 km/h – this signals that the tuning has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted.
To deactivate the tuning, simply press the WALK button again. A brief 2,5 km/h display then signals that the tuning has been canceled and the maximum assisted speed is limited to 25 km/h again. Your e-bike will then function as it did before the chip was installed.
Tip: For e-bikes without a classic control panel with WALK button, the tuning can also be switched on and off using the key combination + - + -.
Setting the maximum speed
The desired maximum speed can also be easily set using the e-bike's control buttons, without the need for a PC or smartphone.
First, switch the mode down three levels, then up three levels. The current speed limit will then be displayed. To change the maximum speed, briefly press the WALK button or turn the rear wheel 360°.
A displayed speed of 1,5 km/h would correspond to a maximum speed of 15 km/h, a 2,0 km/h display would correspond to 20 km/h, 3,0 km/h would correspond to 30 km/h, etc.
After 5 seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit is saved.
Mounting
The SpeedBox 3.0 is a module or chip that must be connected to the motor. Thanks to color-coded connectors, installation is easy and can even be done at home.
- First, you need to turn off your e-bike and remove the battery.
- You then need to remove all components of the e-bike so that you can access the connectors on the motor.
- Disconnect the connectors on the cable from the motor to the speed sensor and from the motor to the display.
- Close the SpeedBox to the separate connectors.
- Return the e-bike to its original condition.
- Turn on the e-bike and activate the tuning by pressing the WALK button.
- That's it - your GIANT e-bike is now tuned, and you can ride much faster with full motor support!
If you ever want to restore the original condition of your Giant If you want to restore your e-bike, you can easily remove the tuning chip at any time.
Important note: If you are the SpeedBox If you want to install the chip in a brand new GIANT e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before switching the chip on for the first time.

Important: Please DO NOT perform a software update on your GIANT e-bike drive system! The tuning may no longer work afterward. We also advise against using the Ride Control app, as the app could force an automatic software update!
Note: This tuning tool is also available in a “B.Tuning” Variant available, which is compatible with the SpeedBox App is compatible. You benefit from various additional functions, such as driving data analysis & engine lock, hiding tuning, etc.
Please note: This SpeedBox 3.1 for GIANT is no longer produced (only remaining stocks are sold / as of Feb 2025). It will be replaced by the SpeedBox 3.3 for GIANT SyncDrive Pro 2 (85 Nm) + RideControl Go / GIANT SyncDrive Sport 2 (75 Nm) + Ride Control Dash, which is also compatible with newer models. This tuning is also available in two versions: "Normal" and "B.Tuning" (App-enabled).

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery takes 1-3 business days within Germany. In exceptional cases, it can take up to 8 business days. Delivery times outside Germany may take longer. Please understand that due to high demand, some products may experience longer delivery times.

Shipping:
Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.

Maximum order value:
The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is €1.000. The maximum order value within the EU is €12.500.
