SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Bafang M300 & M400 (3-pin connector)
This tuning module not only removes the 25 km/h speed limit of your Bafang e-bike, you can even set the top speed to an individually desired value.
In contrast to the “normal” SpeedBox is this “B.Tuning” Variant additionally with the practical SpeedBox App compatible. This significantly expands the functionality of the tuning, allowing you to get the most out of your Bafang e-bike and benefit from useful additional features (see below).
However, all important functions of the tuning module can also be used without the SpeedBox Use the app (turn tuning on and off, etc.) so that you don't have to take your smartphone with you every time you want to go for a ride on the bike.
By the way: Even when tuning is switched on, the e-bike display continues to show correct data, such as the current speed.

- Maximum speed can be individually adjusted: You can easily set the maximum supported speed via the SpeedBox app. Alternatively, you can also set the maximum speed manually: To do this, first switch the mode down three steps, then up three steps again. The display will then show the current speed limit. You can now set the maximum speed by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or turning the rear wheel 360°. After 5 seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit is automatically saved.
- Correct speed in the e-bike display: Even when tuning is activated, the e-bike display shows correct values (current speed, maximum and average speed, range, daily distance, etc.).
- Tuning can be switched on and off: The SpeedBox 3.0 can be easily activated/deactivated via the app or the control buttons on the e-bike display. To activate the tuning, you can either press the LIGHT button or the key combination + - + -. The display will then briefly show 99 km/h – this signals that the tuning chip has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted. Pressing the LIGHT button again will deactivate the tuning. A brief display of 25 km/h then indicates that the tuning module has been deactivated and the maximum assisted speed will once again end at 25 km/h. The e-bike will then function as if no Speedbox chip were installed.

SpeedBox App
This “B.Tuning” variant of the SpeedBox 3.0 tuning module can be connected via Bluetooth with the specially developed SpeedBox App This allows you to monitor your performance precisely. You can, for example, display comprehensive driving parameters and data on your smartphone, save individual rides and compare them with friends, etc. The SpeedBox The parameters displayed in the app are extremely accurate, as they are read directly from the e-bike's control unit. But the app has a lot more to offer—see for yourself:
-Tuning control (enable / disable tuning)

Note: All relevant functions of the SpeedBox Tuning module can also be controlled without the app (tuning on and off / setting maximum speed etc.). However, the SpeedBox App is a very practical accessory that considerably expands the functionality of the tuning chip.

Installation
SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning is a chip or module that must be connected to the engine's connectors. Thanks to the labeled connectors, installation is simple and can even be done by yourself. You can use the illustration below as a guide for installation.
If necessary, you can SpeedBox You can easily remove the chip if you want to restore your Bafang e-bike to its original condition.
Important hints:
-If you have the SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning into a brand new Bafang e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before starting the tuning for the first time.
-If you want to update the software of your Bafang e-bike, you must first SpeedBox 3.0 Uninstall the B.Tuning Chip from your e-bike. Then update the software and install the SpeedBox then again.
SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Bafang M300 & M400 (3-pin connector) - Compatibility
This tuning tool is compatible with the following e-bike drives (with 3-pin pins on the speed sensor):
-Bafang Max Drive M300
-Bafang Max Drive M400
3 pins on the speed sensor connector. To check if the number of pins is correct, you'll need to remove the engine cover and inspect the speed sensor connector.
The SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Bafang is available with motors with the CAN protocol compatible, however CAN'T with motors using the UART protocol. The CAN or UART protocol can be distinguished by the shape of the connectors.
The first step is to unplug the display connector from your e-bike. The shape of the connector will tell you whether your e-bike uses UART or CAN communication.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
