SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Yamaha PW-X3, PW-S2
A third-generation tuning module that allows you to remove the speed limit on your Yamaha PW-X3 or PW-S2 e-bike motor. You even have the option to set the maximum assisted speed to a custom value.
In contrast to the “normal” SpeedBox 3.1, this “B.Tuning” variant is also available with the practical SpeedBox App compatible. This allows you to benefit from numerous practical additional options and significantly expands the range of functions. For example, you can monitor and save driving data, activate the engine lock, etc. See below for details.
The SpeedBox However, the app is not absolutely necessary to SpeedBox 3.1 Tuning Module. Alternatively, you can also turn the tuning on and off using your e-bike's control buttons. This means you don't have to carry your smartphone with you every time you want to go for a ride on your e-bike.

- Maximum speed can be individually adjusted: You can set the maximum supported speed using the SpeedBox You can easily set the speed yourself using the app. Alternatively, you can also use the e-bike's control buttons: First, switch the mode down three levels, then up three levels. The current speed limit will then be displayed. You can now change the maximum speed by briefly pressing the light button or turning the rear wheel 360°. After five seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit will be saved.
- Correct values in the e-bike display: Even with tuning activated, the display shows real values, e.g. top speed, average speed, range and daily distance.
- The tuning can be switched on and off: Activate the tuning module either conveniently via the app or by pressing the light button or the key combination ↑↓↑↓ on the display (for e-bikes without a traditional control panel, you can alternatively press +-+-). To confirm that the tuning has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted, the display will briefly show 99 km/h. If you want to deactivate the tuning, simply press the light button again. The display will then briefly show 25 km/h – this signals that the tuning has been lifted and the motor assistance will end again at 25 km/h.
- The SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning module does not require its own battery.
SpeedBox App
This version (“B.Tuning”) of the SpeedBox 3.1 tuning module can be connected via Bluetooth to the SpeedBox App This is ideal if you want to closely monitor your performance. You can view various riding parameters and data on your smartphone, save individual rides, and compare them with friends, etc.

Note: All relevant functions of the SpeedBox Module can also be controlled without the app (tuning on and off / setting maximum speed etc.). However, the app is a very practical accessory with which you can expand the functionality of the SpeedBox Tuning module significantly expanded.

Mounting
The SpeedBox 3.1 is a chip or module that must be connected to the motor (see illustration). This means you'll need to gain access to the corresponding connectors on the motor. To simplify installation, color-coded connectors are used, each equipped with a key for correct connection. With a little skill, you can install the module yourself; no special technical knowledge is required.
If you ever want to restore the e-bike to its original state, you can uninstall the chip at any time.
Important hints:
-If you have the SpeedBox 3.1 into a brand new Yamaha e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 1 km before switching on the tuning module for the first time.
-If you want to update the software of your e-bike, you must SpeedBox first uninstall it from the e-bike. Update the software and install the SpeedBox then again.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Delivery takes 1-3 business days within Germany. In exceptional cases, it can take up to 8 business days. Delivery times outside Germany may take longer. Please understand that due to high demand, some products may experience longer delivery times.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
