The SpeedBox 3.2 is a third generation tuning chip that connects to the SpeedBox App This allows you to benefit from many setting options and easy operation.

The core function of the tuning is to remove the 25 km/h speed limit of your Giant E-bikes allow you to ride much faster with full motor support. You even have the option to set the maximum speed to a desired value.

The chip is conveniently controlled via the SpeedBox App. However, the most important functions (e.g., turning the tuning on and off or setting the maximum speed) can also be controlled via the buttons on the e-bike, so you don't have to carry your phone with you on every ride.

Even with tuning activated, the e-bike display continues to show correct values ​​(e.g. the current speed). You can view even more detailed riding parameters on the go via the SpeedBox Display the app – we recommend simply attaching your smartphone to the handlebars (suitable mounts are available in stores or directly from us in the shop).

This SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning replaces the old SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Giant, the sale of which is discontinued. New is the possibility to set a maximum speed of up to 50 km/h (although it is recommended not to exceed a speed of 35 km/h). In addition, the SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning now even more resistant to tuning detection.

 

SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning for Giant - Advantages at a glance

• Compatible with the SpeedBox App
• Repeal of the 25 km/h speed limit.

• The tuning can be switched on and off at any time, either about the SpeedBox App, or manually by briefly pressing the WALK button (alternatively with the key combination -+-+). A brief "5.0 km/h" display on the screen symbolizes that the tuning has been activated – the speed limit has been lifted; and you can ride up to 50 km/h or even faster (however, it is recommended not to exceed a speed of 35 km/h). The display "2.5 km/h" symbolizes that the tuning has been lifted, and that the speed limit is back at 25 km/h (the bike functions exactly as it did before the SpeedBox). Caution: Tuning should NOT be activated or deactivated while driving!
• Maximum speed freely adjustable: The supported maximum speed can be set by yourself if desired. This can be done conveniently via the SpeedBox App, but also manually: To do this, switch the modes three levels down, and then three levels up again (---+++), then the current speed limit will be shown on the display. The speed limit can now be changed in 5 km/h increments by pressing the WALK button or by turning the rear wheel 360 degrees. A displayed speed of 1.5 km/h corresponds to a maximum speed of 15 km/h, 2.0 km/h stands for 20 km/h, 2.5 km/h stands for 25 km/h, 3.0 km/h stands for 30 km/h, and a 5.0 km/h display corresponds to a maximum speed of 50 km/h, etc. The last displayed speed limit is automatically saved after 5 seconds of inactivity.

• Insensitive to tuning detection (a speed of 35 km/h should not be exceeded).
• Correct values ​​in the e-bike display: Even when tuning is activated, the display shows correct values, e.g. current speed, maximum and average speed, range, daily distance.
• SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning Chip does not require its own battery, because the energy supply is provided by the e-bike battery.

 

SpeedBox App – The advantages at a glance

The free SpeedBox App extends the functionality of the tuning chip considerably. Since the most important functions can also be controlled manually, the tuning chip can also be used without the SpeedBox The app can be used, but only in combination with the app will you benefit from all the advantages and many great additional features. To connect to the chip, your smartphone must have at least Bluetooth 4.0.

Installation

The SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning is a chip that must be connected to the connectors on the engine (the speed sensor cable connector and the cable connector leading from the engine to the display). Since the chip is installed under the engine cover, it is not visible from the outside after installation. These images show you how the chip must be connected:

Please note: To access the motor's connectors, one crank, chain, and chainring must be temporarily removed during installation. Then, the motor cover must be removed and the motor itself temporarily tilted out of its mount.

-In some cases an additional crank puller is necessary

Of course, the chip can be removed at any time to restore the e-bike to its original condition.

 

Important information – please note!

-SpeedBox recommends NOT updating the software of the e-bike. The warranty for SpeedBox Products does not apply to malfunctions caused by updating the e-bike motor.

-SpeedBox recommends checking the type of motor connectors before purchasing.

-The preset speed limit of 50 km/h should NOT be exceeded. SpeedBox also recommends not exceeding a speed of 35 km/h.

-The tuning must NOT be activated or deactivated while driving.

-If you SpeedBox 3.2 B.Tuning Chip into a completely new Giant E-Bike, you must first install at least 10 km ride the e-bike before you start the tuning chip for the first time.

-Countdown: After the end of your ride, the e-bike must remain switched on until a constant speed of "0.0 km/h" is shown on the display. During this phase, the remaining time is shown on the display. After that, you can safely park the e-bike.

-During short breaks, keep one foot on the pedal to avoid starting the countdown withdrawal process, so you can continue riding seamlessly.

-For longer stops, you should at least run a partial countdown.

-Do not remove the screen from the e-bike until the “countdown” (mileage deduction) is complete.
