With the SpeedBox 3.3 B.Tuning Chip allows the 25 km/h speed limit of Giant E-bikes, which allows for much faster riding with 100% motor support. Since this special "B.Tuning" variant offers the additional option of connecting the chip via Bluetooth with the practical SpeedBox App There are a particularly wide range of configuration options available for pairing. This allows the tuning to be even better tailored to your individual requirements.
The tuning chip is conveniently controlled via the SpeedBox App, although the most important functions can also be adjusted manually using the bike's control buttons (e.g., activating and deactivating tuning). Therefore, it's NOT necessary to bring your smartphone with you on every ride.
You even have the option to individually set the desired maximum speed (50 km/h should not be exceeded).
Even if the tuning is switched on, the e-bike display continues to show correct Values, such as the current tempo.
Note: This product replaces the SpeedBox 3.1 B.Tuning for Giantwhich is no longer produced. In contrast to the SpeedBox 3.1 the speed of the new SpeedBox 3.3, the speed can now be increased to up to 50 km/h (the maximum speed should not be set higher). Furthermore, the tuning chip is now also compatible with the latest e-bike models (2022, 2023, 2024, etc.).
SpeedBox 3.3 B.Tuning for Giant - Advantages at a glance
- Complete abolition of the 25 km/h speed limit (SpeedBox recommends not exceeding the preset limit of 50 km/h).
- Set max speed individually: You can easily set the maximum supported speed via the SpeedBox App Alternatively, you can also do this manually using the control buttons on the e-bike: simply switch the modes down three levels from HIGH mode and then up three levels again (↓ ↓ ↓ ↑ ↑ ↑), after which the display shows the current speed limit. The max speed can now be adjusted in 5 km/h increments by pressing the WALK button or by turning the rear wheel 360 degrees. A speed display of 1.5 km/h corresponds to a max speed of 15 km/h, 2.0 km/h stands for 20 km/h, 2.5 km/h stands for 25 km/h, 3.0 km/h stands for 30 km/h, and a 5.0 km/h display corresponds to a top speed of 50 km/h, etc. (the 50 km/h limit should not be exceeded). After five seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit is saved.
- Insensitive to tuning detection (provided the maximum speed of 50 km/h is not exceeded).
- Real values in the e-bike display: Even with active tuning, the display shows real values, e.g. the current speed, top speed, average speed, daily distance and range.
- Tuning can be switched on and off at any time: The tuning can be done at any time via the SpeedBox Activate/deactivate the app. If you don't have your phone with you, you can also do it manually: Tuning can be turned on and off by briefly pressing the WALK function (holding down the "-" button). In this case, the display briefly confirms each time (display "5.0 km/h" = tuning active & speed limit lifted / display "2.5 km/h" = tuning deactivated and the maximum speed is back at 25 km/h). Please DO NOT activate/deactivate the tuning while driving.

SpeedBox App – The advantages at a glance
thanks to the SpeedBox App The functionality of the tuning chip is significantly expanded. While the chip can be used without the app, its full potential only unfolds in combination with the app. This allows you to benefit from significantly more convenient tuning. The connection between the app and the chip is wireless via Bluetooth.

The SpeedBox The app is not required to use the tuning chip, as the most important functions can also be controlled via the buttons on the display (e.g. switching the tuning on and off). However, the SpeedBox App is a great extension as you benefit from numerous additional features and have a much better overview of your performance.
Our tip: Before placing an order, first download the SpeedBox App to your smartphone. Try the demo version and experience all the features of the app. This way, you can also make sure the app runs properly on your phone.

Installation
The SpeedBox is a tuning tool in the form of a module or chip that must be permanently connected to the engine's connectors (see photo). Since the chip is stored under the engine cover, it is not visible from the outside after installation.
Please note: To access the connectors on the motor, you must first remove a crank and then temporarily remove the motor cover.

The chip can be removed at any time without leaving any residue. The e-bike will then be returned to its original condition.
Important information – please note!
-SpeedBox recommends NOT updating the e-bike's software. Updates could lead to incompatibilities with the tuning.
-You should NOT exceed the preset speed limit of 50 km/h.
-DO NOT activate or deactivate the tuning while driving.
-If you have the SpeedBox 3.3 into a brand new Giant If you install an e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 10 km before activating the tuning chip for the first time.
-After completing a ride, the e-bike must remain powered on until the display shows a constant speed of "0.0 km/h." During this phase, the display shows the remaining time, thus creating a "countdown." After that, the e-bike can be safely parked.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
