The SpeedBox 3.3 is an ingenious tuning chip to remove the speed limit of Giant E-bikes. By unlocking your bike, you can finally unlock its true potential and ride much faster with full motor support.
The tuning chip is conveniently controlled via the buttons on the e-bike display. This allows you to not only turn the tuning on and off, but also set the desired maximum speed to a custom value.
Even with active tuning, the e-bike display continues to show correct values, e.g. the current speed.
This product replaces the SpeedBox 3.1 for Giant, which is no longer produced. In contrast to the SpeedBox 3.1 can speed up the new SpeedBox 3.3, the top speed can even be increased to 50 km/h (although you shouldn't set the top speed any higher). Furthermore, the tuning is now also compatible with the latest models (2023, 2024, etc.).
SpeedBox 3.3 for Giant - Advantages at a glance
- Unlocking (removal of the 25 km/h limit).
- Max speed up to 50 km/h.
- Set Vmax individually: The assisted maximum speed is very easy to set. To do this, switch the modes three levels down and then three levels up again (---+++), after which the current speed limit will be shown on the display. You can now adjust the max speed in 5 km/h increments by pressing the WALK button or by turning the rear wheel 360 degrees. A speed display of 1.5 km/h corresponds to a max speed of 15 km/h, 2.0 km/h stands for 20 km/h, 2.5 km/h stands for 25 km/h, 3.0 km/h stands for 30 km/h, and a 5.0 km/h display corresponds to a top speed of 50 km/h, etc. (the manufacturer recommends that the preset 50 km/h limit should not be exceeded). After five seconds of inactivity, the last displayed speed limit is automatically saved.
- Insensitive to tuning detection (provided the maximum speed of 50 km/h is not exceeded).
- Real values in the e-bike display: Even with tuning switched on, the display shows correct values, e.g. top speed, average speed, daily distance and range.
- Tuning is very easy to switch on: Tuning is activated by pressing the WALK function. A brief display of "5.0 km/h" indicates that tuning has been activated and the speed limit has been lifted (theoretically, speeds up to 99 km/h are possible, but it is recommended not to exceed a maximum speed of 50 km/h). Caution: Do not activate tuning while driving!
- Tuning can be turned off at any time: Simply press the WALK function again, and the tuning will be deactivated (as confirmation, "2.5 km/h" will appear briefly on the display). Motor support will now end at 25 km/h again – just as if no tuning chip were installed. Caution: DO NOT deactivate the tuning while driving!
- Alternatively, tuning can also be activated/deactivated using the key combination -+-+.
- The SpeedBox 3.3 Tuning Chip does not require its own battery, because the energy supply is provided by the e-bike battery.
Mounting
Within the SpeedBox 3.3 is a module or chip that must be permanently connected to the e-scooter motor (the chip itself is stored under the motor cover, where it is not visible from the outside). This illustration shows you how the chip must be connected:
Please note: To access the connectors on the motor, you must first remove a crank and then temporarily remove the motor cover.
The following tools are required:

-T25 Torx screwdriver
-A crank puller may be required.

If necessary, the chip can be removed at any time so that the e-bike's original condition is restored.
Important information – please note!
-SpeedBox recommends NOT updating the e-bike software.
-The preset speed limit of 50 km/h should NOT be exceeded.
-The tuning must NOT be activated or deactivated while driving.
-If you SpeedBox 3.3 Chip into a completely new Giant If you want to install the tuning on your e-bike, you must first ride the e-bike for at least 10 km before switching on the tuning for the first time.
-After the end of your ride, the e-bike must remain switched on until the display shows a constant speed of "0.0 km/h." During this phase, the display will show the remaining time (countdown). After that, you can safely park the e-bike.
Tip: If you want your tuning with even more features, we recommend the SpeedBox 3.3 in the so-called “B.Tuning” (LINK) variant. This version of the tuning chip can be connected via Bluetooth with the practical SpeedBox App This allows you to benefit from numerous additional features that make tuning even more convenient – for example, you can display comprehensive driving data, save trips, activate an engine lock, etc.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We currently do not ship to countries outside the EU. We also do not ship to the USA, France, or Canada (including any overseas territories). We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
