SpeedBox 3.3 for Yamaha PW-X3 / PW-S2 / PW-XM / Moro 07 / YDX-Moro 05
This successor version of the SpeedBox 3.1 comes with extended compatibility: For the first time, this popular tuning module is not only compatible with Yamaha PW-X3 & PW-S2 drives, but also with Yamaha PW-XM drives and the e-bike models “Yamaha Moro 07” and “Yamaha YDX-Moro 05”.
The SpeedBox 3.3 removes the factory speed limit of 25 km/h, allowing the full potential of the motors to be utilized. When unlocked, you can drive much faster with full motor support. Theoretically, speeds of over 60 km/h are even achievable – however, the actual maximum speed always depends on various external factors, such as payload and motor power, gradient angle, tire pressure, etc. However, speeds of around 35 km/h and more are absolutely realistic.
You experience a completely new, more dynamic driving experience!
Within the SpeedBox 3.3 is a module or chip that must be connected to the connectors in the engine compartment. No special technical skills are required for installation.
All settings can be conveniently adjusted using the control buttons on the display; neither a PC nor a smartphone is required.
SpeedBox 3.3 - Features at a glance
- Repeal of the 25 km/h speed limit.
- Set your own speed limit: Within the SpeedBox The desired maximum speed can be set by switching down three modes from high mode and then up three modes again. The current speed limit is then displayed. The maximum speed can now be changed in 5 km/h increments by briefly pressing the LIGHT button or turning the rear wheel 360°. The last displayed speed limit is automatically saved after five seconds of inactivity.
- Correct values in the e-bike display: Even with activated SpeedBox Tuning the display shows correct values, e.g. top speed, average speed, range and daily distance.
- Tuning can be easily switched on and off: The SpeedBox Tuning can be easily activated/deactivated using the control buttons on the e-bike display. To activate, simply press the LIGHT button or the key combination ↑↓↑↓ (on "Booster Easy" bikes, only the ↑↓↑↓ buttons are used). To confirm that tuning has been activated, the display will briefly show "9.9 km/h" (on displays without decimal numbers, the value "9 km/h" is displayed) – the speed limit has been removed. Pressing the LIGHT button again deactivates tuning. To confirm, the display will briefly show the value "2.5 km/h" (on displays without decimal numbers, however, "2 km/h" is displayed) – this signals that tuning has been canceled and motor assistance ends again at 25 km/h. The e-bike will then function as if no tuning chip were installed.
- SpeedBox 3.3 does not require its own battery.
Mounting
The SpeedBox 3.3 Chip must be plugged directly into the connectors on the motor (see figure):

The manufacturer uses color-coded connectors to prevent accidental misconnection.
Please note: To access the connectors, you'll first need to remove one crank and the motor cover. This installation video shows you how:
Needed tools:
-Hexagon key H2.5
-Hexagon key H3
-Hexagon key H8
If necessary, the chip can be uninstalled at any time without leaving any residue, so that the e-bike's original condition is restored.
Important hints:
If you have the SpeedBox 3.3 into a brand new e-bike, you must first ride the bike for at least 10 km before starting the chip for the first time.
The manufacturer points out the following: If you want to update the software of the e-bike, you must first SpeedBox from the e-bike. Then update the software, and only then SpeedBox reinstall in the bike. However, we generally advise against e-scooter updates, as the tuning module may no longer function properly afterwards.
Tip: The SpeedBox 3.3 is also available in a “B.Tuning” Variant that connects via Bluetooth with the practical SpeedBox App You'll then benefit from practical additional features, such as hiding the tuning and recording and analyzing your driving data.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
