This practical tuning module impresses with numerous optimization options and is considered extremely reliable. Compared to the previous model, the new VOLspeed V2 also with the new Bosch Smart System software updates compatible:
Compatible with Bosch Smart System software up to 15.24.2 & LED Remote / Purion 200 / System Controller software version 15.12.3. Also compatible with Bosch upgrade from April 2025 (see below). However, please do not perform any further software updates on the drive system. This may impair the functionality of the tuning.
Also important: The VOLspeed for Bosch Smart System is one of the tuning solutions that has the fewest errors on the new Bosch Smart System generates. Therefore, we highly recommend it!
Brand new: Now with optimized connectors!
Until now, the connectors of the VOLspeed Modules for Bosch Smart carried out using an additive manufacturing process. To improve stability and strength, injection-molded parts are now used; and the front section of the bushings is now made of metal. All while maintaining the same compact dimensions.
The core function of the tuning module is to remove the 25 km/h speed limit, allowing you to ride much faster with motor assistance. There's even the option to set the maximum assisted speed to a desired value (up to 45 km/h). The default value is 32 km/h.
Please note: VOLspeed recommends setting a maximum speed limit of 35 km/h to permanently prevent the tamper detection from being triggered (error 504). A higher limit doesn't necessarily trigger the error, but it significantly increases the probability.
A special feature of the VOLspeed The tuning module is called "Dynamic Mode." In this optionally adjustable mode, the motor support stops less abruptly when reaching top speed, making driving much more relaxed.
All settings are conveniently made using the control buttons on the e-bike; you don't need a PC or smartphone.
The VOLspeed V2 is a module for connecting to the e-bike motor. For installation, the motor cover must be temporarily removed. Once installed, the module is invisible from the outside. No cables need to be damaged or modified. Once plugged in, the module is immediately ready for use; no complex calibration is required. The module's electronics are securely encapsulated in the housing, providing excellent protection from moisture.

Please note that the installation process may vary slightly for other e-bike models.
Important note: When tuning is activated, the e-bike display shows too low a speed starting at approximately 21 km/h; moreover, the distance measured is too short. This means that the mileage after using the VOLspeed Tuning no longer corresponds to the real values and is lower.
VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart System (BES3) – Features at a glance:
-Unlocking: 25 km/h speed limit is lifted.
-The Maximum speed can be freely adjusted, from 25 km/h to 45 km/h. The setting is made via the Plus and minus buttons, with the last set value being saved. Please note that the maximum speed should not be set higher than 35 km/h, as otherwise the Bosch anti-tuning software may trigger.
-The tuning can be switched on and off at any time using the control buttons on the e-bike (after switching on the e-bike, the tuning is always initially off). Depending on the control unit and display, the buttons must be used to change the support level, e.g., the + & - buttons (sequence - + - +). After switching on, the set speed limit is displayed for 5 seconds.
-Dynamic mode Adjustable: This optional mode allows for a softer throttle response. This means the motor assistance no longer stops as abruptly when the set maximum speed is reached. This reduces the "wall effect" and thus makes for a more comfortable ride.
-Automatic initialization: After installation, the module is immediately ready for use; no complex calibration is necessary.
-The VOLspeed V2 module required no own battery.
-Individual activation code: You can set an individual code that allows you to activate the tuning using the control buttons on the e-bike.
-For e-bikes without a display, you can also use the Bosch Flow app to view the module settings. But please no Perform software updates with the app!
Note: The manufacturer VOLspeed generally advises against Bosch updates. If the Bosch Flow app reports an update, you should not install the update, as the tuning module could then be detected by the tamper detection system. It's also possible that the tuning module will no longer work after an update. Automatic updates should definitely be disabled in the Flow app.
VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart - Compatibility:
The VOLspeed V2 Tuning Module is only compatible with Bosch Smart System E-bike drives (sometimes referred to as “BES3” or “Bosch Gen4 2022”) where the factory-set motor support bis 25 km/h enough.
Also compatible with Bosch Smart System Gen5 (from 2024), sometimes referred to as “Bosch CX Gen5” (assuming the e-bike does not have a rim magnet or ABS Pro).
Important: Compatible with Bosch Smart System motor software up to 15.24.2 and LED remote / Purion 200 & system controller software version 15.12.13. Please do not perform any further software updates. This may impair the functionality of the tuning!
Only for the following drive units, which are Bosch Smart System E-Bikes are used, compatibility is guaranteed:
-Bosch Active Line (Plus) Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (Software version up to 15.24.2)
-Bosch Performance Line Gen3 from MY2023 Smart System (Software version up to 15.24.2)

This tuning tool is also compatible with the Bosch Smart System upgrade from April 2025 (sometimes referred to as version "15.10.1" or "15.13.1"). You can identify the upgrade by the following software versions: Drive Unit Performance Line CX: 15.24.2 / LED Remote: 15.12.3 / Kiox 300: 15.10.0 / PowerTube 750: 15.10.1
Note on Bosch SX engines: Whether this tuning module is also compatible with Bosch SX motors cannot be said with certainty at this time. In most cases, Bosch SX e-bikes are equipped with a rim magnet – if this is the case, compatibility is definitely guaranteed. CAN'T Even if the Bosch SX drive is equipped with ABS, the tuning will NOT be compatible.
Regarding Bosch SX E-Bikes WITHOUT rim magnet, the VOLspeed V2 actually work - but we cannot give a 100% guarantee at the moment.

IMPORTANT:
-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System E-Bikes with ABS system!
-Not compatible with Bosch Smart System E-Bikes with rim magnet (Magnet on the valve / Rim Magnet). You can recognize these bikes by the large magnet on the valve on the rear rim (=rim magnet).
-The manufacturers recommend Bosch Smart The system explicitly rejects software updates. It's possible that the tuning may no longer be compatible after an update; in the worst case, the Bosch anti-tuning software could even trigger.

If your Bosch E-Bike is equipped with one of the displays / control units from the left field, it is not around a Bosch Smart System E-Bike. In this case, we recommend the VOLspeed for Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4.
Tip: Bosch Smart System E-Bikes (BES3) can be easily identified by the plug on the charging cable.

Does your Bosch E-Bike charging cable have a square plug (as shown above), you have the correct Tuning module selected (if the bike does not have ABS and a rim magnet). If your Bosch e-bike does not have either of these connectors, you either do NOT have a Bosch e-bike, or you have an e-bike with the old Gen1 drive (Classic Line).

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000.
