VOLspeed V2 for Bosch Smart System – Version with new connectors
The VOLspeed V2 is a high-quality tuning module for Bosch Smart System E-bikes with a factory-installed 25 km/h speed limit. It removes the speed limit and allows individual adjustment of the maximum assisted speed within a range of 25 to 45 km / h.
Compared to the previous version, this version features optimized, more robust connectorsInstead of additively manufactured plastic parts, improved connectors with even greater stability are now used. This ensures an even more reliable connection while maintaining the same compact dimensions.
This is particularly popular VOLspeed V2 because of its very harmonious driving characteristics. The optional Dynamic mode This reduces the often abrupt reduction in speed at the set maximum speed. This results in a significantly more pleasant and natural driving experience.

Mounting
The VOLspeed V2 connects directly to the motor. The motor cover must be temporarily removed for installation. No cables need to be damaged, disconnected, or modified.
Once installed, the module is virtually invisible from the outside. The electronics are securely potted and therefore well protected against moisture and external influences.
Please note that the exact installation process may vary slightly depending on the e-bike model. If you are not confident in performing the installation yourself, we recommend having it done by a qualified specialist.

Important note regarding display values
With tuning activated, from approximately... 21 km/h The display shows a speed that is too low. Additionally, the distance traveled is also underestimated. As a result, the displayed mileage after using the tuning is lower than the actual distance driven.

If your e-bike has a large magnet on the valve of the rear wheel rim, it is a model with a rim magnet. In this case, this product is not suitable.

If your Bosch E-Bike is equipped with one of the displays / control units from the left The field is equipped with it, but it is not a Bosch Smart System E-Bike. In this case, we recommend the VOLspeed for Bosch Gen2, Gen3 & Gen4.

Note regarding software updates: The manufacturer explicitly advises against Bosch Smart System updates are disabled. After an update, compatibility may be lost; in the worst case, the Bosch tamper detection system may be triggered. Therefore, automatic updates in the Bosch Flow app should be deactivated.

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
