The VOLspeed V2 is a high-quality tuning module for e-bikes and pedelecs with Yamaha PW (Powerdrive) Drive system. It offers significantly more adjustment options than many simple tuning solutions and can be conveniently operated directly via the buttons on the e-bike display – entirely without a PC or smartphone.

Mounting
The VOLspeed The V2 module is installed invisibly on the drive motor. With some technical skill, installation takes approximately 15 minutes. The module simply plugs in; no cables need to be damaged or modified.
To access the connectors, the engine cover must be temporarily removed.
Required tool: 3 and 6 mm Allen keys, ideally a torque wrench.

This module is suitable for Yamaha PW (PowerdriveEngines of all model years.
Not suitable for children's and youth models with factory-installed support up to 20 km/h and for S-Pedelecs with support up to 45 km/h.
Attention: Not compatible with Yamaha Branded eBikes such as: E.g. Yamaha Moro 07, Yamaha CrossCore RC, Yamaha Wabash RT, Yamaha Booster or Yamaha Booster Easy.

To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.
