VOLspeed V3 for Giant Syncdrive Pro / Sports
Tuning module for permanent installation in e-bikes / pedelecs with Giant Syncdrive Sport / Pro / Life / Core drive system from model year 2017 to 2022 with the EVO, EVO-SG, CHARGE, and PLUS displays, as well as the ONE, DASH 2 IN 1-SG, ERGO-SG, and ERGO2-SG control units. The device is installed invisibly on the drive motor. No cables need to be damaged or modified; the module simply plugs in.
No PC or smartphone is required. All settings are conveniently controlled via the bike's display.
A unique feature is the ability to adjust the speed limit, the throttle response and the wheel circumference via the display.
Attention: This tuning module is NOT compatible with Smart Gateway software version 202 403 14000 or newer!
Therefore, DO NOT perform a software update on your GIANT e-bike drive system!
The update could severely impair the functionality of the tuning and/or the e-bike.
It doesn't matter whether the module was removed for the update or not; even the engine type doesn't seem to matter. Even after uninstalling the tuning module, the problems persist!
We also advise against using the Ride Control app, as the app could force an automatic software update!
In contrast to the almost complete removal of engine cut-off with other tuning modules, this module allows for a very sporty driving style with moderate battery consumption by slightly increasing the limit, for example, to 32 km/h. To reduce the very abrupt cessation of engine support at the cut-off speed, the cut-off range can be expanded to twice the speed range.
Note:
For the initial setup of the tuning and for setting an individual speed limit, a display (e.g. PLUS or EVO-SG) or alternatively a speed display app is required. You can use the Giant Use the RideControl app.
Features
- Tuning can be switched on or off using the control unit on the handlebar.
- After switching on, the speed limit can be freely adjusted within a range of 25 - 99 km/h using the arrow keys. The last set value is saved.
- Also works with S-Pedelecs or bikes throttled to 20km/h.
- The tuning is always switched off after the bike is switched on.
- A "softer throttle response" can be set (Dynamic mode). This significantly softens the otherwise very abrupt throttle response at the speed limit. The last setting is saved.
- Wheel circumference adjustment possible during setup.
- Correct display of speed, distance traveled and average speed at all times.
- The bike's total mileage is correct even after the tuning module has been removed, as the mileage in the engine control unit is updated by the tuning module.

Tools
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

Shipping costs for Germany are €4,90; shipping is waived for orders over €180. For countries within the EU, shipping costs are €12,90; shipping is waived for orders over €2.000. We ask that you bear the costs of any return shipments yourself. Please note that customs duties may apply in countries outside the European Union.
