The VOLspeed V4 is one of the most versatile tuning solutions for Bosch e-bikes of generations 2, 3, and 4. The factory-set 25 km/h speed limit is removed, and the maximum assisted speed can also be individually adjusted within a range of 25 to 45 km / h to adjust.

All settings are adjusted directly via the e-bike's control buttons. A PC or smartphone is not required.
The VOLspeed The V4 module is also compatible with many Bosch Gen4 drive units equipped with anti-tuning software. According to the manufacturer, the module has undergone extensive testing; limiting the maximum assistance to 45 km/h significantly reduces the risk of error code 504.
Note: Those who want to play it safe should set the maximum support limit to no more than... 35 km/h to adjust.

Mounting
The VOLspeed The V4 is connected invisibly directly to the e-bike motor. This requires temporarily removing the left motor cover. Depending on the model, special tools are needed, in many cases an ISIS crank puller and a TX20 Torx wrench.
The bundle included Crank puller It is therefore a useful addition for installation.
Cables do not need to be damaged or altered in the process.
Compatibility
The VOLspeed V4 is compatible with many Bosch e-bike drives from Model year 2014 to 2022 compatible:
- Active Line Gen2 from MY2014
- Active Line (Plus) Gen3 from MY2018
- Performance Line Gen3 from MY2020
- Performance Line (CX) Gen2 MY2014–2019
- Performance Line CX Gen4 from MY2020
- Cargo Line from MY2020
Bosch Gen4 drives with anti-tuning software are also supported.
Older software versions are also compatible.
Important: We generally advise against Bosch software updates, as there is no guarantee that the tuning will continue to work afterwards.
Not supported:
- Bosch Classic Line (Gen1)
- Bosch Smart System (BES3)
- E-bikes with factory-installed assistance up to 20 km/h or 45 km/h
Tip: Bosch Smart System e-bikes can often be easily identified by their charging plug.

Does your Bosch e-bike have a round plugThis module is generally the right choice. However, if your bike has a square connector, you will need the Smart System version instead.
To install an E-Bike tuning chip in your E-Bike it is sometimes special tools necessary. Please check previously whether you have to open the engine compartment to access the motor connectors. This is especially true for products from the Modules, Kit, Dongle and Sensor.
Normally (but not always) opening the engine compartment requires loosening the crank. To do this, you will need a Crank puller. Some engines also have a Spider Tool This is important for opening the lock ring on the chainring - because the chainring must be loosened here so that the motor cover can be removed to access the inside of the motor. If you want to replace the chainring (wear, change the gear ratio), you often need a Spider Tool. The necessary special tools can also be found in our shop. To remove the engine cover, you usually need a Torx or Allen key. For installing the modules, appropriate Pliers from the electronics sector.
Do you decide not for a tuning solution that you have to install in the engine compartment (Box, Software), there is no need for any tools. In our Guide you will find further tips.

Important information on tuning measures for e-bikes and e-scooters
We expressly point out that any modification to e-bikes and e-scooters – whether through hardware tuning (e.g. tuning chips, dongles, sensor adapters) or software tuning (e.g. apps, programs or USB tools) – can have consequences.
Tuning measures on e-bikes and e-scooters mean that they are no longer permitted for use on public roads as defined by the StVZO (Road Traffic Licensing Regulations). Legal use is therefore only possible on private property or - if permitted - in competitions. Riding an e-bike or e-scooter modified by tuning measures on public roads can lead to criminal liability for driving without a license (Section 21 of the Road Traffic Act) and driving without insurance (Section 6 of the PflVG). Tuning measures on e-bikes can lead to the loss of warranty rights and manufacturer guarantees. Furthermore, tuning measures can lead to the loss of insurance coverage and benefits from accident victim assistance in the event of an accident. The e-bike (or e-scooter) modified by tuning measures is subject to additional stress due to the higher speed, which can lead to safety risks.

The minimum order value is €25. Only above this amount are advance payment, PayPal, and bank transfer available as payment methods.

The maximum order value for orders outside the EU is €1.000. The maximum order value within the EU is €12.500.
